TRC 10086 Surge Guard 30 Amp Portable circuit Analizer
Will not fit in most junction boxes, Sticks out too far to shut box properly.Prongs had sharp edges and hung up in receptacle, had to file smooth. Prongs are lose in unit.

Good but bulky
This product is a good investment to check the electical circuit before plugging your RV. It is difficult to leave it plugged in at all times, because most campgrounds have thethe 30 amp plug at the bottom of the electrical boxes. This can cause a gap in the connection between the box and surge protector; that can cause the the breaker to trip when several appliances are running at one time.

It Does Protect your RV
We have had this product for several weeks and used it at 3 campgrounds. At the last place it detected a problem with the power outlet. We notified the office and they moved us to another spot. They did repair it later, but fortunately we did not hook up to this site as it may have damaged some of our appliances. The only negative about using this surge protector is that we can not fully close the electric box once it is plugged in and our power line is connected to it. Other than that it is a useful and critical product to have for any RV and well worth the $94.

Good Product
I've used this product for one whole camping season and it worked very well. It will tell you right away if the outlet is safe to plug into. It has given me a little extra peace of mind when plugging into an unknown power supply. Some of the reviews talk about how it doesn't fit into power boxes nicely. Instead of plugging mine into the box, I plugged it in the middle of two power cords. This has worked well and has allowed me to keep the surge protector tucked up under the trailer out of the weather.

Works great, but won't go in flush at Michigan State Campgrounds
Works great! The only con is it will not go in completely at the campground power source in Michigan campgrounds. It still works even though its no in all the way. If it was shorter in length it would fit perfectly. Also, Camper plug fits extremely tight into the surge protector. Very hard to get out. I guess its great way to deter thieves! Just get a really strong guy to pry them apart and you're good. Great price and came days quicker than expected!

safety first
many camp grounds recieve less than stellar maintenance and after all we are playing with enough volts to put the hurt on you. i bought this to check the cicuit and as a surge guard and it does check the wireing for proper circuit, i checked it. as a surge guard i hope it works just have not had the experience as yet.

Oversized
I guess this does what is suppose to do but, I find it does not fit most electrical boxes when used for camping. It fits the outlet but the box blocks proper positioning.

So far so good
Unit is protecting everything in a travel trailer, so far so good. The only difficulty, the unit does not want to stay flush with a 30 amp dual power pedestal, I've had to use a three prong adapter to have it hold in the receptacle.
