We LOVE this launcher.Believe it or not, I use it annually with my second grade class during our end of the year party. We head to the park with tons of water balloons and the kids launch away! You need adults to hold each side and the kids lean way back to launch the balloons 100 yards away (sometimes I help the kiddos). It's a great way to have water balloon fun that lasts more than 5 minutes (like in a partner toss) and doesn't have kids belting each other with hard balloons (like in a water balloon fight). The kids go and pick up their left over pieces before they can get back in line to launch again. Clean up is a cinch that way.I highly recommend! :)

This item can surely launch smaller sized balloons over 100 yards. Requires three people, and a blast to use. It's too tempting (for us, at least) to use people as targets like we did. To test it's effectiveness, my brother was about 100 yards away and we hit him in the leg (he was a willing participant). It left a giant welt and we quickly decided that was the end of our experiment. Will work wonders on inanimate objects to test your shot placement skill.

The kids and adults love this. It was a blast but I found that it is hard to hold or keep the balloon in the pocket while shooting. More than once the balloon fell out even trying to hold it in there with your hand it would fall out the bottom. There is no way this is shooting 400 yards though. Three rather large men could not get that kind of distance on this thing but still worth the money and it will go far.

In theory you might be able to get 400 yards if:1) You have some kind of super balloon that doesn't pop when this amount of force is applied.2) You mount this to a very stable launching platform3) You replace the pouch with something that will hold balloons safely and spread the force across the balloon4) You have nerves of steel (and a wench) to pull it back to the point where it will launch that farWe used this in my company's balloon launching contest and came in second place, so it does work, but we had to mount it to a wooden frame that allowed us to launch the balloons more effectively. Also had to use balloons filled to about 30% capacity otherwise they just exploded either on the launcher or 2 inches away from it. I was a little disappointed that the winning launcher was just surgical tubing and a funnel mounted to a very similar frame. In any case, our best launch was about 300 feet which is quite impressive, and crowd pleasing, but nothing near 400 yards.

Excellent product! Bought it for a water fight between 150 adults. After hitting my commander and blasting a water balloon through a hangar window I think it's safe to say I will be remembered. I take this thing everywhere I can! Buy one just for the heck if it. I promise it'll come in handy sometime. you'll laugh do hard it brings tears to your eyes

I have a version of this....with a shorter launch ability....and decided that our Fourth of July festivities just needed more power. I was a bit disappointed. After every few balloons, we had to stop and pull the fabric (that is adjacent to the handles) back into position. We tried using safety pins and staples to hold it but nothing worked. Now, don't get me wrong...it was a blast! But the constant stop and start kind of slowed the fun.

400 yards is a very long way. When used with three people on a level surface and the recommended lemon sized balloon you would be doing well to get 100 yards out of it. The 45 degree angle that is needed for maximum distance requires the handles to be almost 15' in the air when considering how far back the rubber stretches. This required a forked tree and rope to tie off the handles. Then my buddy and I pulled the launcher back together and used round rocks of similar weight to the balloons and measuring with a range finder we were maxed out at about 180 yards. So giving leeway for error I would say the max distance you could possibly get out of this product is 200 yards. It is still fun despite the false advertizing.

It is a slingshot that will launch craps 400 years! If you have 2 friends and a bucket of crab apples, water balloons or anything else that will fit in the sling you have fun times ahead. If you don't have 2 friends find 2 trees close together and rig it up on them. This thing to to much fun not to figure out a way to use it.
