Melting Sea Ice illustrates the effects on sea ice of global warming in many parts of the world. Rising global temperatures speed the melting of glaciers and ice caps and cause early ice thaws on rivers and lakes. The painting is part of my "World Issues" series, now dealing with Climate Change, which I believe to be one of the most critical issues facing mankind. Melting Sea Ice is 22 inches high by 28 inches wide, acrylic on stretched canvas, on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides (gallery wrapped), so a frame is not necessary. It is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance when a painting sells, which increases its value. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick; copyright is not transferable through the purchase of artwork.
