Went through the fuel system and finally landed on the decision that I was getting weak spark. I had just replaced the coil with a Napa brand about a month ago. As well as plugs, wires, and rotor button. I rerouted the wires and still the problem existed. Apparently the new Napa coil wasn't delivering enough voltage. The MSD paired with a new distributor cap (no signs of arc'ing inside, but the button was excessively worn) seemingly made my truck happy again. If you are getting that feeling of shaking when the truck or car locks up overdrive make sure you dont overlook the ignition system. It will feel like your transmission is going to fly out of the vehicle, but that isn't the problem. Fords have a problem with their ignition systems even new ones relating to coil problems.
