Leahy

I picked this cd up several years ago after hearing the group on the radio....always loving their virtuosity. Last month they performed in my neck of the woods and when I looked for the cd it was gone...probably lent it to someone....so I had to restock. They were every bit as good live as on cd. Sometimes one trumps the other but not in this case. There is more than enough variety in the playlist to counter my Irish friend's comment about Celtic music being the same tune played with 2,000 of the slightest variations. You will enjoy.

I absolutely love Leahy, so I was thrilled when I overheard at their concert last Saturday that there was a new album out. As soon as I saw Handmade on Amazon, I ordered it, then waited expectantly for it to arrive (I do love Amazon Prime!)Unfortunately, this is not a new album--it is merely Lakefieldand In All Things put onto a 2-CD set with a different title.I couldn't give anything less than 5 stars for their music, but I do wish they'd release some new songs soon. I know they have plenty written--I've heard the songs on the Leahy: Live From Gatineau, Quebec(which is superb, especially the trick fiddling, and the music videos) and in concert.

I wish I had read the other review before buying this album. As I found out, this is simply two prior albums Lakefield and In All Things packaged together under a different name. Since I already have those, this was a waste of money. I love Leahy, but this seems a little deceptive, as no where in the product details does it mention that it's simply a reissue. I got the impression that it was a new album.

Only recently have I heard this family group and do not know how they escape me. Without any doubt, this family of dancers, singers and musicians is more than worth consideration. Their musical energy and talent is exciting and refreshing. If you can see them on the Chieftains CD featuring this family on the early tracks, you will be convinced that their CDs are worthy additions to those who love Celtic music.

just opened this cd. can see visible scratches on it which affects its playing. what a big disappointment ! spent too much money on this to not have it play correctly !!!

My most favorite group. Absolutely one of the best.

This is a compilation of two previous cd's. I'm glad I read some of the other reviews first so I didn't purchase those first. It is fun to listen to and makes your feet want to get up and dance along.
