Our journey began with our Empathy Kit – which grew out of our founder’s volunteer experience with a neighborhood preschool class. We have since grown to over a dozen such products, which we test thoroughly to ensure their simplicity and effectiveness. By providing an environment and system for children to identify and access their emotions and character traits, we help them grown into strong, well-rounded, and global citizens. What makes your product special? It's really not about our product, it's the experience parents and children can have through play. Happy Heart Kid's aim to break down barrier of teaching kids abstract ideas such as empathy, gratitude, perseverance and help parents teach these values through creative play. There has been a welcome change in the educational value of toys and the importance of STEM and literacy skills in the early years of children. Wonderful kit for Occupational Therapy and home use! Big two thumbs' up!
I'm an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and loved how this incorporates a child's occupation of play with learning. An elementary student with an Autism diagnosis was quite excited about this Happy Heart game. He repeatedly requested to play the Happy Heart game and to do the activities. He was able to practice and observe social skills, bilateral coordination, fine motor skills, motor planning, and sequencing. The kit is small with four different activities, which makes it easy for an OT to slip into his or her activity bag. This kit is also perfect for a parent or older sibling to play at home both with neurotypical children and ones with special needs! The board game is sturdy and has a wide variety of cards. It's simple and gets the child to think about social situations and also play act. It comes with activities to create bracelets and thank you cards, and has all of the basic supplies one needs. The child can personalize the game by decorating his/her own game piece. The little guy and I both give this a two thumbs' up!!I did receive a discount on this courtesy kit in exchange for providing a honest review. All opinions are my own.

Why have games like these not been developed before?!
Just loved this kit! My daughter is artsy so the first thing she dived into was to create her own thank you cards for special people in her life. She loved the hand made stamp and even used the stamp pad to put her hand print on the cards! She loved making the bracelets and spent ages on these two activities in particular.My favorite activity though was the mind your P's and Q's board game. We first had fun decorating our little 'person' that we would move around the board, and the questions and prompts were fantastic! My daughter is almost 4, and she was so engaged with the questions, the role play, the choosing the correct behavior etc. It was such a fun and smart way to teach these important life skills and manners. My only issue was the board game was very short and only 3 rounds did we "win". Would have probably enjoyed it more if it was longer. We have not had time for the coloring in book yet. Although I received this product for a discounted price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review, I found this to be a fantastic kit that I would absolutely recommend to all parents of young kids.Great idea!

I don't like when companies include the word Montessori when describing their ...
I don't like when companies include the word Montessori when describing their product just because it could attract buyers. The product is not Montessori friendly per se. A Montessori friendly product would not feature an elephant personifying human qualities such as sweeping, saying thank you, or sitting at a dinner table. I am not the strictest Montessorian, but I do like to keep mostly in line with the principles. So, that is why I gave this product a 4 out of 5.I would recommend this product to parents who can help their children point out the inaccuracy of some of the visuals. If you are confused...Montessori education avoids fantasy elements geared towards such young children. I made this box more Montessori friendly by applying the teachings to my child's life. For example, in the workbook it asks a child whether Sam (a cartoonish looking Tiger) is being courteous by laughing at his friend stuck in a tree. My child was instead asked whether it would be courteous to laugh at her sister who is having trouble because she is stuck getting off her stool. I love that children have the opportunity to practice fine motor skills (making a peace bracelet) as well as have an opportunity for enhancing their development with making really abstract concepts more concrete. I recommend the kit to parents who want to bring the grace and courtesy conversation into their home, but be aware that this product would not always align with Montessori principles. We have had to change up some of the activities but it is a good starting point.I reviewed the Courtesy Kit with the help of a promotion. All opinions are 100% my own.

I stumbled upon the Happy Heart Company and I must say I am so glad I did. This is an excellent educational kit for children of varying ages. Being a homescooling mother of 9 I have tried more educational sets then I can remember.This set is nice it has 4 complete projects to entertain children while teaching them very valuable lessons. Courtesy is something that is very important and a foundational skill that will help children be successful throughout life in whatever path they choose.To have meaningful play that is step by step is great. Giving the children the confidence to independantly complete tasks is wonderful. See alot of this type of kits have such complex objectives and skills that are needed to complete it that it looses the fun that is ment to keep the children engaged. This one is easy to follow and complete giving the children a sense of accomplishment while learning wonderful skills.This is a kit my 6 year old daughter was able to work on and complete on her own which was great she was so happy. This is a set i plan to use with my son who suffers from dyslexia and complex learning disabilities.
