Q: I'm confused. Why does the description say, "Quarter ONLY - Will NOT Fit Micro SD card"? Isn't it supposed to be micro sd HOLDER?

Yeah.. If you modify it a tiny bit it holds a micro SD card but I guess they expect you to use it for coke or something. It will not hold a Micro SD card when you receive it.

Q: Does the nickel (with no modification) hold a microsd card?

Negative, ghost rider. It will not fully shut.

Q: Are all the coin dates the same? If I buy five nickels, will every nickel have the same date and mint mark? Or will they be random?

I can not say for sure but I ordered 2 quarters and they both had the same date. (2001)-Edit It really dose seem to be a real coin which is what the manufacture claims.

Q: Are the coins magnetic (the US coins specifically)?

No it's not magnetic. It snaps when you press with your fingers and you use the included tool (looks like a ring) to reopen it. Or just trow it on to the wall :) But microsd card did not fit well into my us quarter. I can close it partially but doesn't snap securely so I don't suggest you to buy the quarter.
