Attic Thermalid II is a unique product that is installed over your attic stairs. The cover has a magnetic gasket around the perimeter of the cover that is connected to the cover by pressing darts on the gasket into the cover. Metal strips are caulked to the attic floor (Use any type of Latex caulk, not supplied). The gasket performs the same function as the one on your refrigerator door. Attic Thermalid II seals the attic stairs keeping your conditioned (warmed or cooled) air in your home. The cover fits both 22" x 54" and 25" x 54" stairs. Outside measurements are 32"x 60"x 11". The cover comes in two piece for shipping and is 2 1/4" thick. It is made from poly-stryene, the same material disposable coffee cups are made. The cover is lightweight, easy to install, removes out of the way with nothing to climb through or lift boxes over. It pays for itself in less than a year. Homeowners should measure the height stairs extend above the floor of attic when closed to ensure proper clearance.
