Almost Invisible Cat Litter (15 LB)

Update 2: By coincidence, the trusted friend from whom I adopted my cats knows the creator of this cat litter. I got in touch with him and he says they had a vet do extensive testing. I feel somewhat better. My cat who was sneezing has stopped, but that was after I returned to the old litter. I will switch back in a few days and see if he tolerates it well. I had three cats with two boxes in a poorly ventilated hotel room. Quite possible the litter was not the problem.Update: This product contains synthetic amorphous silica which does not appear to have the same level of horrible health effects as crystalline silica. The synthetic process does not create any crystalline silica. Lab tests on animals show that it can cause temporary, reversible inflammation of nasal passages or eyes but not permanent fibrosis in the lungs. Clearly we need more comprehensive research, but what is available appears to mitigate what I wrote below. Upgrade to four stars, but use at your own risk. Recommend you continue to follow research and watch kitties for signs of respiratory distress. My cat might just have recurring URI.This product does what it advertises. It soaks up urine and traps it. It dries out feces. It is easy to clean. It has a little bit of dust. It does track, but no more than others. The cats like it. If I weren't concerned about health, this would be the litter for me.The product is made of condensed silica gel. This is the same stuff used in disposable diapers and the dessicant packs that come with many products to absorb moisture. While silica gel is non-toxic, silica dust is related to numerous occupational health hazards such as cancer and silicosis. The effects are grisly and incurable. The particulates are breathed in and the lungs form nodules around them. It only takes a small amount to cause problems.My youngest cat started sneezing within days of first using this. He might be sneezing because of a URI, pollen or some other cause. But until we learn more about the long term effects of this, I'm reluctantly going to switch back to natural litters. Bear in mind though that just because litter is "natural" doesn't mean it is safe. The dust from natural cat litters might be just as bad for the lungs. If I had found reputable studies that those litters were bad, well then I'd have a conundrum. I hope that we get some good research that tells us whether or not this product is safe. I want it to be safe because I like it so much. Five stars for performance, minus two stars for the health uncertainties for both kitties and me.

I saw this litter at a cat show and was anxious to try it--after reading all about it. I have 2 cat pans for my 3 babies and filled one with the invisible litter so they could try it. They all used both pans equally so I switched both pans over to the new product. There is absolutely NO dust, minimal tracking, and no odor. I stir well each day I scoop solid waste. There is a tad of odor for a few minutes after stirring after about a week, but that goes away as the urine is absorbed (15 minutes at most). It lasts way longer than regular litter. I recently went to England to visit my daughter who has 2 cats. We searched but could not find this brand. We found another brand which was cheaper than her old clumping litter. Again I put out 2 litter pans and completely switched when I saw both cats ok with the new stuff. The litter there lasted almost 3 weeks for the 2 cats. It got pretty yellow about the second week, but again no odor until all of it was solid yellow. And since this product just raised their price 15% I'm buying the cheaper brand that works equally well.

Sorry, but neither I nor 2 of my cats liked this litter. I didn't like that there was no clumping. I like taking out what the cats put in, not stirring it around in the clean litter. I found it didn't last nearly as long as the other cat litter we use. Also, the cats tracked it further into the roomsnear the litter room and I did have mats down to try to avoid that.

I have tried so many cat litters...luckily, my cats are not fussy, but I am. While I really liked the corn based litters (great absorbency and low smell), one kitty was sensitive to it. We all liked the walnut-shell based litter, but apparently being sensitive (me) to walnuts made that litter not a good idea either. Cats do not like it when their servants can't tend to them for a simple thing like breathing.Hating to, I switched back to traditional cat litter and tried out the lightweight stuff. What a mistake! It is not nearly as absorbent as the original stuff, and I had forgotten how bad the tracking could be. Along comes this product. I saw it reviewed by a site I respect. While it is pricier, so far, it seems worth it! Both cats have taken to it well, it still tracks a bit (but no more than any of the better litters we tried), and smell management is excellent. Given that not as much is used, I'm not sure it will be much pricier when all is said is done.Hopefully, I have found a litter with can stick with for the long haul.

Needs to be stirred often or else urine will make a slush puddle. Dries feces great, but urine smell is not masked at all.

Really like this cat litter. Much easier to use than the clay absorbent litter that I have used for years. Found this new crystal cat litter being sold at a cat show.I have recently found a very similar product on Amazon: Nature's Miracle "Just for Cats" Easy Care Crystal Litter. Highly recommend this product even in multiple cat households. NO Smell!! Lasts over a week with multiple cats. Easy to clean. Doesn't stick to the litter box like the clay litter.I haven't found it at any retail store, so I will continue to buy it from Amazon.

Cats love it when it's fresh but it doesn't absorb as well as other products... possibly because the granules are so small? I wish other products were available in bulk like this one.

My cat and I LOVE this litter! It has NO smell but keeps urine from getting an odor. Just scoop out the poop and change the litter once a month. It is great! They say no tracking but my cat always scoops out some of the little pellets when she uses the litter box
