I'm happy and my knives are happy!
This product worked very well for me. Was looking for a space saving knife block and this is perfect!! Based on the picture I thought I would only be able to add about six knives. But it did accommodate all my knives beautifully. If you only put a few knives they tend to fall forward so more is better. I have limited counter space and the purchase of a new toaster decreased the space for my old black clunky knife block. Just love it! My husband likes the fact you can see the blades rather than sliding knives into a conventional knife block. He thinks the slots in standard blocks is a breeding ground for bacteria so the exposed blades in this model is a plus.

Should be at least 1/2" taller
I ordered this with high hopes. It has a relatively small footprint, and I have a very small counter. I really like the design - no grooves for the knives in which to trap crumbs and dust. But I was disappointed to find that the height is not quite right for my 8" chef's knives. The tips of those knives wound up resting on the bottom instead of hanging free. If none of your knives are 8" or longer, this will work well for you.

Well thought out appearance and design!
Very stylish, plus it lets any excess water dry more quickly than if the blades were encased. I modified mine quite easily with a dremel tool to accept a slightly wider blade on one of the end slots. I don't own cleavers, but the two center slots work well for knives that aren't as big as cleavers. The only thing I didn't like was that the scissors slot didn't allow for a shorter bladed scissors.

A good buy, looks nice, sturdy.
I’m very pleased with this knife block. It’s sturdy, takes up only a small amount of counter space and looks nice to boot. The only negatives for me are the spot for a sharpening steel, since I don’t use one, and the slots are a bit too close on one side. I have to move one knife a bit forward for them to fit. For the money, it is what I wanted.

Not what I was hoping for.
This seems like a very niche items for very specific knifes. My Shun Premier 8" wouldn't fit in the normal knife slots, only the cleaver. Even then, no matter what angle you set the knife in the tip makes contact with the base which obviously isn't acceptable. It does look nice, and the open look is great, but without function, there is no point to the form.

Decent quality, but lacking design.
Decent quality, but the design is lacking. It's designed with two very long slots. Each could likely hold two knives, but they don't fit securely. A better design would be 4 slots of a bit less than half the length. That would still be enough for most large chefs knives, but would hold smaller knives more securely.

I like the rack-design
I like the rack-design. It's easier to dry than the block-design.The only one thing I want to day is there are only one slot for the chef knife/santoku knife. I have to drill the far-left slot to hold my santoku knife, using a small drill.(that why I didn't gave 5 stars.)Overall, a great product. And I love it.

Doesn't work very well.
Don't like them because the shorter knives will just flip out of the holder. The larger knives are ok, but they don't sit straight. I purchased two of them and did not keep the pkgs. they came in so I can't return them.
