Do these work on British Airways? I might be wrong but the airline provided headphones seemed to have one pin longer than the other?

Hello, Whether is a Boeing or Airbus the connector for the headset are all the same. If the particular airline requested a special plug then they will need to supply the proper adapter to the passenger. I would really doubt it since this cost the airlines money. Ah I’m not that familiar with this adapter. It should work, however - Remember that you need to charge so it works. It does not get power through The 3.5mm port.

Do these work on Qantas flights?

Yes! Used one on a QANTAS flight this month.

Would they work with Sony XM4 ?

They will work with anything that needs a 3.5mm single connector. However, the 2 prong connector did not work in the Aircraft I flew on, it only required a regular 3.5mm earphones connector.
