The Adaptor Did Not Fit the Connector
Although the description included my monitor model number, it was not the correct connector - it was much too small, so I had to go in search for the correct adaptor. Electrically it had the correct specs, (power, current and polarity) the physical connection between the monitor and the adpator was incorrect.
