Good, not great
This charcoal burns nice and it has high quality wood -- mine had no processed wood, metal, rocks, or anything other than high quality hardwood in it. That said, this is not a cheap bag, so I'd expect better than what I got. The bag itself is sturdy but messy - it held up for the duration of my use but dust started coming out it from the start. Minor issue over all. My main problem was the huge amount of dust and small lump in the bag. I didn't weigh, but I'd say about 10% of the bag was very large pieces (too big), 50% was perfectly sizes, and then the other 40% was either small lump or dust. That's a lot of waste and a lot of fuel that I'd rather not pay a premium for. I'm sure there was 25 pounds of good stuff in here, maybe more, but I ended up using a lot of small stuff and throwing out a significant amount of fines. So, overall, nice hardwood lump that burns clean and made for some good bbq but it's overpriced considering how much small stuff I ended up with, as this is essentially a 30 (or so) pound bag when are are talking about usable lump.

Skip this lump
After getting through a few large lumps, literally just a few, the bag is full of mostly ice cube size chunks and good amount of powder. I mostly bought the charcoal for its supposed long burning times and lack of popping. Well, it really is unimpressive in the burn time department and there are always a chunk or two that pop and throw burning splinters of charcoal across the patio.

Great product! Heard about it on the BBQ Central Radio Show
I purchased Kebroak charcoal off of amazon after I learned about the product on the BBQ Central Radio Show. I am a backyard bbq fanatic but have had allergic sensitivity with the kingsford briquettes and the fillers and chemicals they put in. My eyes would become severely red and throat sore and irritated, sometimes for days after. I began wearing goggles and facemasks and took benedryl before-hand, which helped, but was inconvenient when having people over. However, it DID help so I could continue enjoying BBQing. After researching, I began using natural wood coal products and that, for the most part, eliminated the severity of my allergic reactions. When I tried Kebroak, I found that no other hardwood charcoal that I had used previously, had the same quality clean burn, heat time, and consistency that Kebroak does. Its a win-win because I get to use a great hardwood charcoal product and I do not need to wear goggles and face masks all the time! I am only going to use Kebroak from now on. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Good Lump Charcoal, But Not The Best I've Used
I've ordered and received two 40 lb. bags of Kebroak, when the price was down to around $27 per bag on Amazon. Both times I got lucky on shipping as although neither box was padded well inside, neither box showed any signs of damage on arrival.Kebroak lump gets the job done. This stuff burns hot, but not the hottest and longest-lasting lump charcoal I've used. I first used it today to cook two bone-in pork butts weighing over 8 lbs. each, along with some wild cherry wood. Size distribution was OK, with mostly medium and small pieces. It was generally well carbonized, and wasn't sparky at all either when lighting in a chimney starter or burning in my smoker's firebox.Second bag had more small pieces and a lot of dust. Used it for cooking beef briskets, pork shoulders, and poultry. The dust was conveyed onto the food.I don't think I'll buy Kebroak again. There are better lump charcoals available at a lower price per pound.

Amazon's packaging SUCKS!
The packaging left a lot to be desired. The box was torn, ripped and then re-taped. A corner was broken, like from being dropped off of the back of a truck. because of all of the rough handling, I MIGHT have received 25 pounds (out of the 40 that I paid for) of useable charcoal. The rest was about 15 pounds of useless and very messy DUST.IF AMAZON could package this charcoal better, and if UPS would treat packages PROPERLY, this would be an EXCELLENT product, but as it stands, I can do better with inferior products bought locally.

Small chuncks are better than big chuncks.
I like smaller chuncks. It's great for my green egg. It lites quickly and usually I am just grilling for 15 minutes and this way I don't have to waste a charcol. Large chuncks are good for BIG and LONG grilling/smoking....but these small chuncks work good for slow smoking too.I would buy large chuncks if I had a huge grill. But I have an egg. And I'm usually just cooking for a family of 3.

Really Good Lump but shipping...
First let me say that the product is very nice to cook with. Burns hot, burns long and burn low as needed. I usually cook with Wicked Good Weekend Warrior lump but I have to travel across town and its a little pricey for the 20lb bags (26). Buying this Kebroak through Amazon is very convenient when the price drops as it did when I got it. Twenty-eight and change. The problem. The bags are heavy at 40lbs (I think my bag weighed more) and the box they ship it in is too big and the lump is not secure. It ends up destroying the box and the lump get pulverized in the process. Result, some smaller pieces that will fall through the grate and a lot of dust.
