Invaluable Security Tools
I travel often for business, and inevitably three or four times a year I'd get a call from a credit card company or bank asking me about suspicious charges. I learned that thieves love airports and malls for "passive scans" of travelers' wallets, where they can pick up credit card numbers from the RFID chip from as far away as four inches (through clothes, wallets, etc.). I bought these cards several months ago and haven't had trouble since. These cards are thinner than my drivers license and health insurance cards, they're a bit thinner than a standard business card. They're glossy and very easy to remove/put in, and so far they've lasted for several months without any visible wear and tear. How effective are they? My office building uses an RFID scanner at every entrance, and I keep my keycard in my wallet. Before I had the Scanner Guard Cards I could swipe my wallet within 2-4 inches of the scanner and it would beep me in. Once I got the Guard Cards I tested them by putting my keycard behind the guards, it was rendered useless. In fact, even being next to the Guard Card (on the outside) means I have to physically touch my wallet to the plastic reader to get it to beep me in. So not only do they block RFID readers, they dramatically reduce the effective range of the RFID electromagnetic fields.I can't recommend these enough to EVERYBODY. Credit cards ALL have RFID chips, and they're ALL vulnerable inside your purse or wallet. Until you decide to replace your wallet with a Faraday cage, this really is your only defense. I bought them for everybody in my family.

Does work but not maximum protection. Add some aluminum foil layers to block it all.
Design is great. Slim and also doubles as protection against scratches using money/credit card clip. Now it might be a little too slim for maximum protection. For example at work we use rfid badges to get in the building. Testing without scanner guard cards allows 6" activation. With it, reduced activation range to 2". Now I tried different card order configurations and has about same results. Now I tested this on a vending machine inside and it seemed to work as expected.. Badge could not be read! Unprotected has activation range of about 2-3". Now I'm not sure how strong these portable rfid readers the thieves use are but I'm hoping it's weaker than the vending machine reader.UPDATE/TIP: I have recently added a 5 layer aluminum foil layer to the backside of each scanner guard card.No thickness is added, just the thickness of some clear tape. This effectively blocks 125hz scanning, and also NFC scanning. For 125hz, both sides of the RFID card needs to be protected. For 13.65mhz cards, it seems like only one side needs to be protected.

Simple, but effective.
Great idea. I had tried several types of sleeves but didn't really like any of them. But this simple idea is really compact. The guards are thinner than a credit card,so they take up almost no space. They're plastic coated,so cards easily slide out. I have one on the outside of each side of my Slim Clip. Now that I've tried this, I realize that putting each card in a separate sleeve might be overkill...

Easier to use then sleeves
I don't know if they really work, but at least they aren't sleeves that you have to take each card in and out of, which don't fit well in wallets and are annoying to use. These can be positioned so that they are on the outside of any cards in a bi-fold wallet.

I use a Dooney & Bourke zip around wallet with 6 credit card slots on one wall. What I dont like about these cards is you need one on top and one on the bottom of the credit card slots. My wallet holds 6 credit cards on one side however I can only use 2 credit cards because i need an RFID card on the top and bottom for protection per the mnnufacturer so what do I do with the other four credit cards??

Easy alternative to separate wallet.
Have to remember to keep these in order for them to work. I prefer my leather protector, but my husband didn't want to carry a separate wallet just for his cards. We need SOMETHING like this nowadays, with all the ID theft!

Works--As Far As I Know!
These are easy to slip in your wallet, and take up practically no space. I have to assume that they work, as I have no way to find out. I'm not assuming they will last forever, and will probably replace them periodically.

Better safe- than sorry!
Not that I'm thinking I'm in "ID theft worrier"- just better to be safe- than sorry! Based on this products reviews, I feel confident & less need for "crowd worrieing"!
