Ground Efx Bear Tooth Digging Tool with Sleeve

I purchased this "digging" tool for metal detecting. The idea being that it would be nice to have something that could cut a clean plug out of the ground so as to make it easier to replace and also something to cut through small roots. This tool is described as having 42 teeth with 21 per side. Sadly this is not the case. It has "serrations" only on the one side and the other is simply flat and neither side is sharpened. Actually, nothing on this tool is sharpened. The tip is so thick and blunt that plunging into the soft turf requires quite a bit of effort. Doing that all day will be exhaustive to say the least. For whatever reason the factory has left all the edges of this tool dull. Not just dull but blunt. Perhaps they have a liability issue with sharpening their tools. Whatever the reason it is not something I could recommend unless you plan on sharpening this item yourself. In that case the factory should be paying you for doing their job. At half the price it may be worth it but for this kind of money you can purchase a tool that is already sharpened. The sheath is decent and looks like it will hold up well even to a sharpened tool. I had the same disappointment with the Garrett tool but this one is even duller. In the end I purchased the Deteknix digging tool which has sharpened edges and a nice point. I also suggest a Hori Hori knife which is also an excellent cutting and digging tool.

I bought this digger tool first of all for the price . It was a lot cheaper than the over priced competitors ! I like the way it feels in my hand and the finish is nice too . The first hole I dug with it went perfectly . I questioned the root cutting edge but it also impressed me on the first hole ! It has heft but it is easy to handle . The sheath is not going to last forever but is nice to get started . Overall it works well and for the price I can buy two of them so I have a spare ! With the money you save not buying the expensive name brand you can get a nicer sheath once the original gives up !

The digging tool is not sharp on the tip and the saw teeth (not really saw teeth) would not cut through roots of any size. The tool would only be capable of working in soft soil with no obstructions. It might work as a toy for a young child.

Very very dull. Thick edges. Grip spins on handle

The photos show the tool to be but it is not.This cannot be used to dig in dirt unless the dirt has been previously tilled. NOT a good product, do NOT buy this.

the tool is well made but the scabboard is poorly constructed, it literally came apart at the seams after only two days of use.

Great solid tool. Could do with being slightly thinner at the tip to allow for easier digging in hard dry ground

in giro si trova anche ad un prezzo più vantaggioso e quindi su questo aspetto non sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. l'oggetto in se non è male anche se la gomma del manico tende ad uscire.

Fa il suo dovere ed è molto robusto. una stella in meno per le cuciture del fodero che hanno accusato fragilità si da subito.

Ottimo coltello da scavo,molto robusto andrebbero affilati i denti da taglio laterali.Comodo il fodero. Consiglio l'acquisto.
