Most alarm clocks I've seen in the stores have way too many buttons, switches, and dials, which can be a little overwhelming for non-techie people. I wanted to find a simple digital alarm clock that's very intuitive and easy to use and this alarm clock fits that description perfectly.It has 4 buttons to set the time and alarm, an ON/OFF switch to turn the alarm on or off, and a big wide snooze button.Setting the time and alarm is very easy to do. All you do is hold down the "Time" or "Alarm" button, and then press the "Hour" button to adjust the hour and the "Min" button to adjust the minute. Very easy!I've experienced some alarm clocks where the time would eventually be minutes ahead or behind after a couple of weeks, but I've never experienced that issue with this alarm clock. After using it for a few months now, the time is still correct to the second.I like the green LED. It's easy to read and easy on the eyes. It's not too bright and not too dim for me, so I didn't mind that it doesn't have a way to adjust the brightness of the LED like other alarm clocks.The alarm sound is your standard buzzer sound. It's loud enough to wake you up, but not extremely loud that it'll surprise you and give you a heart attack.It's very light and compact, so you can bring it with you on a trip.It takes one 9-volt battery (not included) so it can keep running during power outages.The only feature I wish this alarm clock has is the automatic time set for when Daylight Savings Time (DST) starts and ends. But I'm already used to adjusting all my clocks manually before the time changes, so it's not an issue for me.Overall, I like this alarm clock a lot and highly recommend it to others who are looking for something that's very intuitive, simple to use, and only ~$10!!

No frills and that's the way I like it. No radio, no fancy buttons, everything is on the top and easy to set. I don't need the alarm feature, but it has one. (I have a cat who wakes us up at exactly 6 every day.) I placed this on the dresser about 6 feet away from the bed, instead of close on the night stand.. The electromagnetic radiation fields from all our appliances, cell phones other stuff may be dangerous when maintained close to our head for long periods of time.The numbers are large enough and the light is bright enough that I can plainly see what time it is from 6 feet away, even in the dark of night. I never knew that most clocks like this have a battery back-up. The clock automatically restores the correct time after a power outage. Very handy for us because the power is always going out in our mountain town.UPDATE: After using this for a couple of nights, I looked for a place to dim the light a bit. There isn't any. The light is almost as bright as, say, a small night light in the room, For those of you who may be disturbed by it on a close night stand, be aware of this. I don't use the alarm, but there is no where to adjust that level either. These things do not affect me at all, just sayin' for those of you that it might.

It was very good to find this clock available at amazon.com because I had searched all the stores in my area and other offers on the internet without finding what I wanted, until at last I did see this one on amazon.com. Because I prefer a soft but clearly visible lighted clock in my bedroom at night, the green digits are ideal for my need. Several years ago I had purchased in a local store a clock almost exactly like this one which still works perfectly well, and I wanted another to put in a second location. For day I was frustrated at not finding what I wanted until discovering this clock almost identical to the first one at amazon. The price was very reasonable and, as usual with amazon.com, delivery was prompt and secure. This clock has all the features I wanted and needed -- it operates on electrical power, has battery backup in event of power outages, it's easy to re-set the time, and it's compact, attractive and unobtrusive. It also has an alarm with a snooze feature, which I don't usually need or use, but good to have just in case. It's always satisfying to find just what you want and need so easily accessible as it is at amazon.com and this clock fits the bill for me very nicely. If this is the type of clock you're looking for, I definitely recommend it.

I purchased 2 of these back in Nov. 2011. Snooze function works fine. Green light is easier for me to see at night than red is and it doesn't light up the whole room. Alarm volume is not adjustable and I found it wasn't loud enough to irritate me into finally getting out of bed. (I keep it on my night stand right next to my ears) It's easy to set the time and the alarm and a simple slide switch turns the alarm on and off. It is electric but a 9v battery (not included) will back up the time while your power is off. Keeps time accurately. Bad news was, I decided to connect the second one I purchased, hoping that two alarm clocks going off will finally shove me out of bed. Unfortunately, the alarm didn't work on the second clock at all. My fault for not checking it right away so I could return it for a refund/replacement. I'm very angry at myself for that mistake!All in all, it's not a bad little alarm clock IF you're a light sleeper and don't need a fog horn to blast you in the ear to wake you up. I'm ordering a clock/radio this time, hoping to crank up the volume on a radio station that plays music that irritates me, hoping THAT will get me out of bed on time.:)
