Neecooler Hour Meter DC 10V-80V Mechanical Hourmeter Gauge [SYS-1 ] for Boat Car Motorcross Diesel Motor Truck Engine

Purchased this item to track hours on my portable generator. Hooked it up to the 12v terminals which are always on when engine is running. Tested it three times for one hour each against a stopwatch and it was dead on every time and works perfect. The meter will most likely outlive the generator as it can go for one hundred thousand hours before resetting itself. You cannot reset it yourself. I believe it is polarity sensitive, so use caution when connecting. Not sure if it would count backwards if you reversed it, but I'm not about to try!

Junk. DOA. They insert a little call us if you need help note. They must know the DOA rate is high. Dumping the factory rejects? . I don't have time to "call for support" nor do I need it. This should work out of the box. I've built 12v systems for many years. The DOA rate for components is becoming a real problem.

The first one died after about 2 hours. The company sent another one when I informed them of the problem. It is working so far.

My electric bill is climbing, so I wanted something to measure run time on my A/C. I didn't want to tap in to the 240/120V feed at the compressor.I bought this, added a Whetstone bridge made out of four diodes I've had since the '70s, and tapped into the C and Y terminals on my thermostat. It seems to run fine on 22V full rectified without a capacitor to smooth it out.Looks to me like I saved more than $100.00 over the cost of the dumbest thermostat that collects run time information.Time to order another for the upstairs, and 110V AC units for the fridge and freezer...
