It took some serious coaxing to get me to try this thing. Really? A plastic shot glass I still up my hoo-ha to deal with the dreaded monthly visitor? Sounds messy and unsanitary... or so said I.I am a convert for life. No more pee-soaked tampon strings. No more changing absorbent materials in the middle of the day. No more effing up peoples' septic systems. No more sending out the husband for tampons. No more leaks all over my favorite jeans. No more waiting in line for half an hour for a porta potty at a music festival to change my tampon. No more doling out precious purse tampons to strangers in need in public bathrooms. It's not unsanitary (unless you are). Just treat it like something you'd put inside your business and make sure you keep it clean (you do evaluate the cleanliness of things that go in your vagene, right)? It's not messy. Just clean 'er out in the shower and call it good. And think of it like a spoon... you hold it at a certain angle under the sink and you're gonna get splashback.True, insertion and removal both take some getting used to, but I can't be the only one who didn't figure out tampon use on the first try, either. Be good to Mother Earth and s***. Just spent the $25 and get it already. You'll be a convert too, I swear. Take it from someone who's worn this thing through 2 music festivals, camping, and a whole day tailgating at a stadium. This thing is the best. Also, ew. Add a photo? No thanks, Amazon.

Buy it. Buy it RIGHT NOW.
I purchased my Moon Cup in January. I have very irregular and long cycles, so I've used this for 6 periods. I loved it immediately, but it does have a learning curve. It took me until about the 4th go round to really learn what works best for the Moon Cup with my body.Pros:1. Omg I have never felt so comfortable on my period. If you are not comfortable with this in, take it out and reposition it. Watch some YouTube videos about different insertion methods. This is how I figured out which way feels best for me. Also, the stem can be trimmed with scissors. I did this the first day I ever used it.2. You are going to save so much money! This cup pays for itself in a few cycles, and then you never have to worry about being out of tampons or pads when you need them.3. The environment is so happy! And the lady parts! Less waste in the trash can and fewer chemicals inside me for days out of every month? Yes! (Also you don't have to worry about TSS.)4. You can go so much longer without worrying about your tampon. I'm a teacher so sometimes bathroom breaks are hard to come by. Even in a heavy day, I can make it through 7-8 hours without emptying the cup. The only time I've come too close to full was a night that I slept 9 hours right after my period started and it was the heaviest I have ever experienced... And even then, no leaks!Cons:1. It will leak if you don't insert it correctly and get proper suction. Again, look up some YouTube videos.2. You won't want to wear a tampon ever again, so make sure your Moon Cup is with you in that adorable cotton bag that comes with it as your period approaches.3. Public restrooms. Not my favorite place to empty my cup because I can't rinse and wash it, but just empty it in the toilet, wipe it with toilet paper if necessary and then wash it when you can. I had to use my cup recently during a full day of air travel, and it was just fine. I wished I was able to wash it, but it was so much more comfortable and less stressful than worrying about a tampon while on multiple flights.Just buy it. Seriously. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made in my adult life.

The trick is toilet paper
So I'll try to keep this concise. I tried diva cup first, which didn't work for me because it would not open up after insertion no matter what I tried so it leaked obviously. Because the moon cup is thicker it doesn't 'like' being folded for insertion, so it pops open right away and I haven't had it leak yet (so far used for two cycles). This might be better for a smaller vagina, I'm not sure?Lots of people complain about the hollow stem that has no grip. The first time I used it I freaked out because I couldn't get it out for 30 min. of trying to grab the stem. I finally used metal pliers and a mirror--which was scary. But I couldn't give up after one try! So the next time I couldn't grip it again, I decided to try using a towel or something, but I was on the toilet so I tried toilet paper first and it worked like a charm and provided excellent grip when pulling on the stem--how convenient! One last awkward thing, when they tell you to "bare down" to get the cup lower so you can grab it...I wasn't quite sure what that meant so I tried flexing different muscles, but only one thing worked. You just have to act like you are going to go #2 basically. At least that works for me. Not sure if I was just confused because I'm a master of keugles hah. Also the bag it comes with was actually cute and made of cotton which it needs in order to breathe and not harbor bacteria. Idk if they have random designs but mine was red with a white floral pattern on it (picture attached).Hope this helped some of you people who were on the fence about this product being a good fit for you.

The mooncup has changed my period for the better. Couldn't feel it at all
Will never use another tampon ever again. The mooncup has changed my period for the better. Couldn't feel it at all, and no leaks during the night. If I were a menstural cup fairy id be handing out these to every woman on her period.
