Over and Under
We used one of these on the deck and installed another one overhead on top of gazebo for shade. It will let rain through, but I wasn't looking for a waterproof cover. We just wanted to cut down on the beastly sun that prevented enjoyment of the deck during warm months. This works great.

Great for the wood Deck
These Patio mats were just what I needed for our wood deck. They do not hold water, and damage the deck in any way. We were using outdoor rugs that started leaving backing residue......those seemed to hold the water too long.

and still looks like new. Bought this rug in spring of 2014 ...
Purchased same rug from QVC for less money five years ago, and still looks like new. Bought this rug in spring of 2014 and it is disintegrating. All the white woven parts are breaking down and falling apart. Very disappointed!!!!!!
