What you see is not always what you get
If you look at the pictures of this slicer, you would think it was a durable, quality product. However, When I got it it was less than impressiveIt is made of flimsy sheet metal, and the top handle edges are sharp and rough underneath where the "tin" was folded. So much so, that I cut my finger when pulling up on it (when I "pressed" the top into the chamber.) I was just testing it, by grabbing it - ouch!Yes it looks good and is "chromed" to be dishwasher safe, but I am not risking my fingers. The hinge for the two handles is wobbly and I doubt it will last very long if you really USE it (like most people would) on a daily basis. So I immediately sent it back.
