Don't waste your time or brain cells on this poor excuse for cinema
This movie deserves zero stars. It was poorly shot as far as cinematography goes, the actors were terrible and unnatural in all their words, movements, and gazes, how the frenchman speaks is unrealistic and how the local men behave around him is not realistic. A story where an older man wants a young girl is not new or original(Lolita themes), but can be told artistically , this was complete trash. You will regret every minute wasted watching this poor excuse for a film. It barely had a plot or moving story at all. I only watched the entire thing because I expected it to get good at some point...I fast forwarded to the end couldn't take it.

Bittersweet and beautiful
To the one-star reviewers who demand that you don't "waste your brain cells," I posit that you probably don't possess any brain cells if you think that this film is not engaging, unique or heartbreaking. Its characters' weaknesses are infuriating, but also deeply human and fascinatingly observed. The relationship between Raja and "Frigo" moves from playful and horny to tragic and fatalistic, without ever announcing where it will end up or what the next move by Raja or Frigo will be. The sometimes playful. sometimes sleazy game of seduction leads to a complex and moving interplay between a man and a woman who are cultural opposites without any expected cliches, other than pain and passion that ring true. The supporting characters make you you laugh and rail against them - because as stifling as their world views are, they're also funny and likeable. After watching so many cardboard-character, Mickey Mouse-plasticky plot-movies with forgettable characters, Raja was a true gift.

Slow but enjoyable outdoorsey set flick
I like this is set in an outdoors country; Marrakesh seems something out of a book. Yeah, this movie is kinda slow but enjoyable. Unfortunately I read the actors bios first and found that Gregory is openly gay. I have nothing against but he definitely was not a great choice for this movie. On the good side I think the acting was excellent from Gregory. The main role actress was ok. All others, kinda less than ok. The old women, are alright and give the flick a nice tone.

Truly Bad
Both the main characters go back and forth as far as what they want in the relationship, which makes no sense and is just plain annoying. Extremely disappointed.

The fruits of France decadence
I have rarely seen a more damning exposition of the ruination that the French so-called Empire brought upon Humanity. And The Beat Goes On. Pathetic and immoral French society polluting mankind

vulnerability/brutality
This film, depending where you are on the moral spectrum will affect each person differently. The characters also function as symbols of entire cultures interacting together without losing their individual realism. I found that having the opportunity to watch it several times was worthwhile. All the characters are culpable, flawed and subject to circumstances beyond their control. I thought the film was well crafted with production values that allowed me to forget the voyeurism and hiddenness of the world I was invading.

Don't bother
Creepy rich guy meets poor young prostitute. Find something more constructive to do with your time than watching this...watching paint dry for example.
