Works great! One thing to note is that this more like a giant felt mat than a foam pad. It does make setting up an above ground Intex-style pool much easier but it is not a foam rubber pad. I put down the tarp that came with the pool then I put this over the top of the tarp. It was good quality and a decent thickness. It is also slightly larger than the diameter of the pool allowing some misalignment with the pool still being on the pad.

This works great. Yes it is just a big, round piece of felt, but it keeps the pool free of debris (such as sand and dirt) during the initial pool installation, and certainly makes walking in the pool a more pleasurable experience (no more stepping on stones). This was the most affordably priced, and while it wasn't quite as heavy as the one advertised with the gorilla jumping on it, it works just as well, as I had used that brand as well. I would definitely go with the best price and not worry about the brand name.

Don't be fooled. This thing looks thin but it is very sturdy. We don't have the nicest lawn, lots of sticky weeds, bumps and lumps but with this under our pool, we can't feel the weeds, bumps and lumps. Very good investment

The pad was placed on top of 2 tarps, then the pool liner. Very nice on feet in pool. Next year I might try 2 pads instead of one. We are very delighted with this product and purchase.
