Advantage II Topical Flea Treatment for Cats 5-9 lbs. 6doses

I have been using Advantage on my cats for years, and switched over to this new formula (Advantage II) when it was introduced. We have somewhere between 5 and 9 cats at any given time - plus right now we have 2 litters of kittens from some stays who shows up in "that condition"!My daughter is very sensitive/allergic to a lot of bugs - and very tasty to them, so having fleas around is a big problem in our house. Since moving out to "the country" (it's only a few acres, but a big difference for those of us raised in the city), the cats are allowed to come and go inside and out, so it is - or would be - even more of a problem.Advantage is an excellent solution, and gives the cats protection that does a great job keeping them mostly flea-free.Years ago, a cat I then owned was almost killed (and cost me a ton in vet bills) due to essentially being poisoned by a "cheaper" brand of topical flea medication. Since then, I refuse to put anything else on my fur-babies besides the tried-and true Advantage.The bigger the multipack, the cheaper the price, overall, so I just buy a big box of each cat weight formula box as needed. Of course we waited until the babies were over 8 weeks old, as recommended, so they wouldn't be harmed by the treatment - but the poor babies are much happier now with the fleas gone!!Good for the cats, good for the house, good for my daughter, good all the way around...

My partner pressed me to choose Revolution instead of Advantage since some fleas have become immune to Advantage but my formerly homeless, formerly fleabag cat (who refuses to be converted into a mostly indoor cat) has tested flea-free since I've been using this. I apply once a month (not to the day perfect, but about every 4-ish weeks.I live in a big city in the Pacific NW and it's not cold enough to kill fleas so I use it year round. Can't have my sweetie pie devolving back into a mangy flea bag again (not to mention bringing fleas into the house)!I like Amazon because Advantage is not sold at CostCo and it's cheaper here than at my vetrinarian's office.

Don't bother trying to save yourself money by buying the cheaper lookalike products. For the first time in years, I ended up with a flea issue at my house this summer. I tried different products including one that was supposed to be a generic version of Revolution. None of them seemed to work at all. So I went back to Advantage. Yes, it's pricey but it works. And Amazon has a better price on it than even Wal Mart.

I have been using the Advantage on my dogs and cats since it first came out. Before this I had tried so many things to keep fleas off of them, collars, shampoos, dips etc. None of them worked well and some were very toxic to my pets and myself. Advantage has had no affect on any of us and pets that have allergic reactions to fleas no longer have any problems with that.

I am happy & satisfied with Suns Out puzzles. However, I will not buy Bits & Pieces again. I had a problem with one of theirpuzzles & got no response when I wrote about it.I always have a good experience with Amazon.

This works and does not make the cat sick. Just make sure you use the proper dose for the weight of the cat. It seems to dry quickly and not leave a sticky glob like other brands. After washing my cats twice in flea soap and combing them with a flea comb, they still had fleas. I put this on them and fleas disappeared.

Along with aggressive vacuuming of carpets and after any remaining eggs hatched, the fleas were totally gone after the second dose. It's been 6 months since we've seen any fleas. Other less expensive flea drop treatments were not as effective as Advantage II.

I am quite sure I already commented on this, but I like this product over Frontline because the applicator has a rounded soft tip. Frontline has a very sharp plastic tip and I have accidently cut my cat's skin. Works as effectively, may cost just a little more, but I will only use this product.
