This is what you need to use with a modern rocker switch, not an old fashioned toggle switch. I needed to make sure no one turned off this light switch as I discovered that it mysteriously controlled an important outdoor spotlight that wouldn't work if it were turned off, and it was located in an unlikely place, on a bank of 4 switches on the other side of the house. Who knows why it was set up this way years ago. This clear acrylic plate is so nice looking, and innocuous, and will stop it from being accidentally turned off, yet has side holes in it so can be operated. It can't be installed if the light switch plate is screwless, but if it's a regular cover that has screws, which is the norm, it works perfectly. I put one on one switch over a 4 switch plate and one on a single switch plate to block accidental operation. As long as it's a plate with exposed scews and it's a rocker switch, it's so nice and effective. It's a very upscale home, needed to look good, and looks so clean and nice. It comes with long screws to reach through the plate, and really did the job. I highly recommend!

got this to cover so no one would turn on the switch that controlled the outside Camera & Light. easy to install, and has small holes you can use a key or pencil to turn it off and on if you need too

Needed protective covers to prevent outdoor security lights from being turned off by children and guests. These safety covers looks great and make it easy to operate the switch while sending a clear message that the switch should not be changed without thinking. The cover practically disappears when installed. Very nice quality. Completely satisfied.

It's an affordable useful product. The acrylic is trim and nicely cut, provided screws are long enough to attach over an existing cover plate.I added two clear nylon washers to each screw and that seems to work to give enough space to accommodate the rocker plate protrusion. I wish the cutout holes were a bit smaller as I feel someone could still accidentally toggle off the lights/camera in my setup. Half the current diameter so a pen would really be needed.

Have three switches on the wall. One of them is connected to a light/fan with a remote. It was annoying to be cooking and have the fan/light accidentally be turned off. This cover solved the issue. You can still access the switch you just have to be deliberate about it. I've since found other outlets that needed it, for example a lamp with a Hue bulb, this prevent accidents there too.

These look very nice installed, but they don’t seem to have enough height to clear the decora switches I have, which seem fairly standard. As a result, tapping the plate guard can result in the light being affected. And avoiding that is the reason I bought these.I gave them 3* because they may work for you if your switches are more shallow.

I need to cover a switch controlling the backyard motion detector light, sometimes the switch get hit by mistake and turned off , this cover does the job fine for what i need .

Nothing negative to say about these, just know that if your toddler sees you working this mechanism they’ll most likely learn how to use it within 2 days 🤪 Mine did, so product was working great until my son seen me , and how it was used.😂
