Surprisingly Useful for Fishing Trips (and More!), But Handle with Care
I recently picked up the Boreeman Upgraded Folding Stool specifically for my fishing adventures, thinking it would be the perfect lightweight and portable seating solution for both boat trips and jetty fishing. Overall, I'm quite pleased with its core functionality, though there are a few things potential buyers should keep in mind, echoing some experiences I've seen from others. The first thing that impressed me was just how lightweight and portable this stool truly is. Collapsing down to a mere 2.5 inches, it easily slips into my tackle bag or can be comfortably carried using the integrated nylon-web handle or the handy, storable shoulder strap. This makes it an absolute winner for anyone who prioritizes packability for activities like camping, hiking, or, in my case, fishing and BBQing.Setting it up is generally easy and quick. The "accordion" style opening using the finger holes is intuitive, and I appreciate the slight twist that locks it securely at the desired height. Being able to adjust it to intermediate heights is a nice feature, offering flexibility beyond the standard full extension of about 17.75 inches, which is a comfortable sitting height for me. The nearly 10-inch diameter seat feels perfectly adequate for my needs and doesn't feel restrictive. The advertised 400lbs load capacity gives me a significant sense of security, especially when using it on a boat where balance can sometimes be a factor. It certainly appears to be sturdily made and, as advertised, it does feel more robust than some other lightweight folding stools I've seen. The availability in a wide variety of colors is also a nice touch. However, mirroring some feedback from other users, the durability does seem to be a point to monitor. While it feels solid initially, some have reported issues with it falling apart upon breaking. I haven't encountered this myself yet, but it's a concern I'll definitely keep in mind with continued use.The ease of opening and closing is also something where experiences seem to vary. Personally, I found the accordion mechanism and the twist-to-lock system relatively straightforward to operate after a couple of tries. However, I can see how some might find it a bit fiddly at first, so be prepared for a potential learning curve. Finally, the manufacturer's explicit warning about avoiding use on sloping ground is crucial. For my purposes on relatively flat boat decks and jetties, this isn't a major concern. However, if you intend to use this for hiking or in areas with uneven terrain, definitely heed their advice to test the stability carefully before fully sitting down. For my primary use of fishing (on both the boat and jetty), the Boreeman Upgraded Folding Stool has proven to be a surprisingly useful and convenient addition to my gear. The portability and ease of setup are fantastic, and the high weight capacity offers peace of mind. Just be mindful of the potential durability concerns highlighted by some users and the limitations regarding uneven surfaces. I'd recommend this to others looking for a lightweight and portable seating solution for various outdoor activities, but advise them to handle it with reasonable care to maximize its lifespan.

Great for events or standimg-room-only concerts
This is a great portable stool or table for many uses. It folds up into a convenient size, and then it expands to a quality seat. I bought it thinking that I would use it for mobile massage, but I realized that many times I needed to move more doing seated work. I was picking the stool up and moving it. I still use it for a portable table or when I am needing a stationary seat. It's good for outdoor events or concerts where seating isn't provided. If seats are allowed, these are easy to carry.

Crowd Pleaser ;)
Every time we pull these out when guests are over, they always say, “Wow! Where did you get those?” Funny enough, that’s exactly how we got hooked on them too. These stools are surprisingly sturdy and adjust to all kinds of heights, which is perfect for our small apartment. My husband and I use them at the dining table, outside, and even at our coffee table. Then, when we're done, they fold up and stow away super easily. So convenient!

Might be difficult to open for someone with arthritis in hands or fingers or failing arm strength.
It works. My lower back gets very sore after 10 minutes or so of walking. This little device was just two inches short of perfect for resting a spell and relieving the pain. If they made one that pulled out to 9 inches high, I would buy it instead {I am just under 6 feet tall}. But, if I lost this one, I would buy it again. The first time I tried to pull it open I thought I needed to twist it to unlock it but got used to it after just a couple of cycles of opening, locking and using. It does look a little lolike you are sitting on a porta potty but keep your clothes on and I doubt you'll have any problems on that account.I think it would be improved by lengthening the shoulder strap to make it easier to get off from around the shoulder and neck, and /or using a snap lock buckle so you could just pinch the buckle to release the strap. It does have a short loop handle too, but then that requires committing one hand to carry it which cancels the hands-free convenience of the strap if you chose to use it.

Better than I expected.
Arrived well packaged, haven't used it yet, other than sitting on it and happy that it's a bit taller than I expected. Made of plastic or synthetic material like all the other similar stools. I've lost a considerable amount of weight so I'm well below the maximum weight capacity of 400, weighing in at about 230 and it felt plenty sturdy enough for me. I'm planning on using it quite a bit this summer so hopefully it holds up through the season.

So helpful for panic attacks
I have had increasing panic while out in public and this pop up stool has been really helpful. The way it is carried like a bag or purse over the shoulder when closed up is nice. It is easy and quick to pop up into a stool. I have used it while in long wait lines at the post office and on walks when I suddenly get very tired or feel unwell. This is a great little gadget!

It works! Just not in the sand
Used it at a music festival and it was amazing! However I used it at the beach and it never opened back up again. I had to throw them away. I’ll probably buy them again in the future, just never use it in the sand.
