Refurbished Joey
Refurbished, so far so good just hooked it up, you need to contact Dish to activate he joey wireless. Must be contacted to your main joey next ti your hooper, by pushing the WSP button.

Excellent mobile receiver
Sucks trying to get it setup with the rest of your equipment,But totally worth getting and movable from Room to Room and even the backyard deck if you are close enough to the receiver that's in the house.

Great alternitive to making holes in your walls to add an extra Dish Reciever
Note: In order to use Wireless Joey. You need a Dish Wireless Access Point to work with the Wireless Joey, and a Hopper. The items works great as described by the Seller, this was my experience in installing this.I am less than a year using Dish.... I live in a rural area, without cable and FiOS, so satellite is my ONLY option. I live in an old farm house, with plaster and lattice walls. Creating holes in my walls for outlets/running wires are a major pain for me.This was my first time using the Wireless Joey. The only issue I had was getting it activated (THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE SELLER!). After several attempts at looking at the instructions, and other online references, I was stumped. I was able to get all the way up to "activation" of the Wireless Joey with ease. Come to find out, it is the way my account is setup. I believe it is beacuse I am month to month (I bought the equipment outright, so I am not under contract, and can leave any time I want to.), and there was not a surplus of money in the account. At least that is what the rep said on the phone.Getting this activated was completed within about 5 minutes into the call. And it worked flawlessly and the picture looked great. The only difference between this and a wired Joey, is the speed the Guide works. On the Hopper 3 and other wired Joey, the Guide will page the stations as fast as I scroll. On the Wireless, there is a slight delay, but it works. The picture is great, no wires (except for a power supply and the HDMI cable). Makes it really convient if I want to move this to another room. Will have to update it when I move it to another room.

Works great, just note that the APs only support 3 Joey's each
Was brand new, works perfectly and activated no problem. I bought 2 of these for my game room at they are about 50 feet from my 2 Joey APs which are both downstairs. No trouble streaming at all. A wireless Joey, if you have not seen one, it not much different than a wired one other than they are a bit slower. My 4K Joey for example, is speedy like my Hopper 3 in controlling the guide, going through menus, etc. Wireless Joeys are a bit slower, but not horribly so.There are a few things to know about the Wireless Joey...you need Dish's wireless Joey access point, they only configure using WPS which can be a pain and each Dish access point only supports up to 3 Joeys. I didn't know that last part and was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why my 4th Joey wouldn't connect to the AP. Added a 2nd wireless Joey AP to my network and it instantly connected. Connecting a 2nd AP is simple using an ethernet switch. In my setup, my Hopper is on my network so I just plug the APs into my router and it just worked.I have 2 wireless joeys in my game room, 1 out in the garage and 1 in my home office and all stream flawlessly despite the very long distances. I am very pleased with the wireless joeys, saved me a ton of trouble pulling cable.

SCREW DISH, DIRECT TV AND CABLE
HERE'S THE RUB ON THIS. I THOUGHT I'D BUY MY OWN AND SAVE THE SUBSCRIPTION FEE, BUT "NO" TO MARRY THE JOEY TO THE HOPPER YOU HAVE TO CALL DISH AND THEY WILL STILL CHARGE YOU THE $7 A MONTH FOR THEM TO HOOK UP.. THAT'S LIKE HAVING INTERNET ACCESS AND HAVING TO PAY FOR EACH COMPUTER YOU OWN TO HOOK UP.I JUST BOUGHT SEVERAL OF THE RCA DIGITAL HD ANTENNA'S WHICH WORK FANTASTIC, "39" GREAT CHANNELS HERE IN TAMPA,AND AND I'M CUTTING THE CORD.AMAZON FIRE STICK, INTERNET, SMART TV AND RCA HD ANTENNA'S AND YOUR NOW CABLE "FREE"

Tech support not required
Additional wifi joey on exisiting dish network account. Wanted a movable joey to move outside on our deck whenever we want to watch TV while using the hot tub on our deck so that no other wires needed to be run outside. So far has worked fine, just as expected.

Useless at this point
Under impression this was all I needed to connect and now that was time to hook up I need a separate access point which is unavailable online.. wasted my money and can’t return

If you have Dish and want an easy flexible second connected TV, you need this Joey.
It works great and was ever easy to install. A few cables to plug in and a call to Dish to activate it and I was in business. Now I have Dish in my game room and can watch all the sports I want.Of note, there is a small ($7.00) a month charge for the extra TV, but by buying this and self installing it, you avoid the $100 installation charge and extending your contract. Also, being wireless (it uses it's own wireless network -- you must also have the Joey Access Point), you can move the Wireless Joey to any room in your house -- even on the deck! Guests staying over? Give them Dish in their room. Move from the man cave to the bedroom, no problem. Very flexible.
