This series of 3 handprinted cards consist of the same pelican image, printed in different color combinations. Each card is individually printed, an original piece of art, NOT a copy. These pelican prints are from a small, limited edition of only twenty. The number of each card is written below the printed image (1/20, 2/20, 3/20). Picture 1 shows the cards you will receive. A unique card for a special recipient! The pelican image is inspired by my love of birds in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially the ones that flock to the Bay and its wetlands. Look for more bird cards showing up in my inventory soon! The cards are blank inside, ready for your message, but let me know if you'd like me to stamp a special message or greeting inside of them. Cards and envelopes come tied with a beaded hemp ribbon wrapped in a cellophane sleeve and shipped in a sturdy envelope. The cards and envelopes measure 4 x 5.5 inches. The images are printed on Canson acid free 98lb paper, mounted (with acid-free double-sided sticking tape) on a kraft double-sided card. The envelope is kraft paper. The pelican image has been designed and carved into linoleum and hand printed by me using water based inks. The linoleum block is carved out, no other prints can be made. The prints were made in the color reduction method: One block of linoleum is carved and inked and printed on a small edition of papers until the image is complete. Yellow, Turquoise, Brown and Black inks were used.
