This keychain is made of African Padauk wood, which permits detailed carving of small objects and is also durable and scratch resistant. The keychain carving shows a beautiful presentation of the Buddha (also known as Gautama Buddha, or Siddhārtha Gautama) with a calming expression. The Buddha (which means the awakened one) is believed to have lived between the sixth and fourth centuries BC and taught for 45 years in India and parts of Asia. Buddha shared his insights about ways to end physical and emotional suffering and live a life of wisdom and compassion. In Asia, wearing Buddha related objects is believed to help bring good luck, guide the way through hardships, and find one's inner strengths and wisdom.
