What works well is if you get a 1.5mm or 2mm 12 gauge aluminum wire and use it for tribal style toggle or S Hook chunky clasps with a flattened hammered look. This size is also great for making springs and decorative rings. For rings, you can use 20 gauge or 15 gauge. Make some Rose rings with wire wrap technique, works well.
