The SGI-5 can recalibrate 2,000 pulse per mile (ppm) through 250,000 ppm electronic speedometer pulse rates, either up or down. The SGI-5 is great for adjusting aftermarket and OEM electric speedometers on vehicles after changing rear end gears, tire sizes, or drivetrain changes affecting the speedometer. The SGI-5 is used as either a signal multiplier (up to 4X) or signal divider (up to 125X), making this unit extremely flexible for almost any application. While the SGI-5 is intended to correct only the signal feeding the electronic speedometer, in many cases where a speed signal is shared or on a databus, the SGI-5 can instead correct the signal feeding the engine and transmission computers. WARNING It is NOT recommended to use this device to alter speed signals going to ABS or Traction Control devices. I wired it between the sensor and the ... *by C***N on March 5, 2016* I used this on a 2001 jeep Cherokee with an Atlas transfer case to calibrate after a gear change to 4.88:1. I needed a 40tooth gear. I could not get the gear to fit. So I bought this. The instructions seem to be written for an automotive electrical engineer but with a little web searching I was able to get it done. Works great. I wired it between the sensor and the ECM, as the speedometer signal is fed from the ECM with a digital signal over the CCD buss. I'm using output #2 and it calibrated easily. After a little more research after the install I realize I should have used a different output but it 's working fine the way it is. Just a difference as to whether the sensor outputs a square wave signal or a sine wave signal. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and I'm pretty happy with it *by E***P on December 4, 2016* Put this in a 97 Jeep after regearing and changing tire size. Speedo was about 15% off. I have the speedo hooked up now, and it is reading accurately. I dialed it in after installation and it worked for about a week and then went off about 5% and I had to readjust it. No problems sinceNot the easiest to install based on the instructions.
