Great New Product!
I was suspicious on how this light- and motion-sensing light bulb works. The uniqueness of the design attracted me to try it out. I tried it under both indoor and outdoor situations. It works perfectly outside of a front door light can under the eave (however, I had to use a socket extender because the light bulb is too short.). I also tried it in a glass-enclosed outdoor light by screwing in the light bulb upside down - it does not work upside down! It also works perfectly indoor in a light can without using a socket extender. Many users kindly responded to my question "Does it turn on outdoor at daylight?" No, it does not turn the light on at daytime outdoor - it does have light-sensing capability! By using this motion-activated light bulb, you don't need to install a motion-sensor switch in any location to control the motion-activated light. I would like to see the manufacturer to make the light bulbs to fit various sizes of light cans and without the need to use a socket extender in a standard size of light can and make light bulbs that are dimmer and brighter than 9W. I also would like to see that the manufacturer place the light and motion sensors at the side of the light bulbs and make sensors that are sensitive enough to work through the glass - they will have sales in millions!

Works well in the right setting
I tried this device as a replacement for the First Alert 725 sensor in the garage, which ceased to function after a few years. Mounted in an overhead garage fixture, the Sentexin Sensor did not function well. When a hot car was parked below it, its heat sensitivity was triggered, making the light stay on for a long period of time. In addition, the sensor seems to have a much narrower range than claimed because it would be quite inconsistent responding to motion from the side, but was much better closer and more directly in front of the bulb. The light generated was adequate, but only out to about 10 feet. The 2 1/2 car garage seemed dimly lit compared to the previous 40W bulb. Although it didn't work well in the garage, it works very well in a 8'x8' utility room. Mounted horizontally in a wall socket, it triggers reliably and provides good light for that size room. The stable temperature, along with movements that occur closer to the bulb's sensor seem to be the appropriate environment for this device.

Good sensor, good light if you have the right location
I bought this for a basement bathroom - where everyone always leaves the light on and I have to go up & down to turn it off. I'd estimate it senses movement up to 20' away, which is great for some areas, but not this one. If the door is left open it keeps coming on as people go up/down the stairs. When I turn the bathroom switch to the 'on' position, there's a slight delay for the light to come on which could be a bit annoying. I also think it may turn off if someone is sitting on the throne too long. The shape of this LED was perfect for the bsmnt bthrm, but not for any other locations I think I could use it in. For now, I'll keep it where it is just to save myself from those midnight trips to the basement.

Outdoor security light
Installed outside over a side door. It is ~7 ft high, and in 85 degree heat one needs to get within ~5 feet to turn it on. We'll see if that changes with colder weather.EDIT: was 40 degrees out, and triggering distance went to ~10 feet. :)Critters go by this light nightly, several times a night, so it has been switching on quite often for the last three months. It has a ~1 minute timer, then switches off. Takes a couple seconds to reset.I installed it in this light fixture outdoors: https://amzn.com/B003B4QX6C

This bulb saved my flip house from disaster - kind of
These light bulbs are amazing. We were flipping a house, and encountered a closet with a light bulb socket and no wall switch or pull string. I thought I'd just waltz into Lowes and buy the old-fashioned ceiling fixture with a pull string and couldn't find anything at all. I couldn't find one on line either. Then I stumbled across these light bulbs while searching Amazon for a remote hand-held unit like most new ceiling fans have so we could turn the darned light off and on and list the house - the remote units come at a high price and I don't believe they would have worked. I installed one of these bulbs in the overhead light fixture in the closet, and it turns off and on when the door opens and closes just as advertised. I am a fan of these bulbs.

Does what it says. Could be better.
Pros: Uses only 8W of power when it's on. I put it on the wall of my garage. Bright enough to clearly see everything around. It works every time.Cons: There is very short blink first it turns solid on. Not sure if this will shorten the life span of the bulb. I only wish that the motion detection angle of the sensor could be wider, so that it could light up when I open the side door.

Amazingly good at a reasonable price.
I bought two of these bulbs for closets. The bulb works amazingly well. The motion of the opening door causes the bulb to turn off and when the door closes the light goes out in a few seconds. In one application, the existing fixture had an opaque globe over the existing bulb and that had to be left off after installing the new motion-sensing bulb because the bulb doesn't work through opaque glass. I don't spend time staring at the ceiling of my closet, so not have a globe on the fixture has not been a problem for me.

Bright! Perfect solution for closet light with broken chain pull
I got this for our small walk-in closet in the bedroom. The chain pull broke off the light socket that's in there, so this was the perfect solution. It's very bright for our closet! We can see everywhere in there now. After we exit the closet and shut the door, it turns off within about 30 seconds.I don't know how long this bulb will last, but since ours is only on for short periods of time, I expect it should last a long time for us.
