Q: Are these true to size? I normally wear a 6.5-7, but I'm not sure if I should size down.

I also wear a 6.5-7 and I bought the size 36 because they run large. So yes you most likely want to size down. I have two pairs of the Rowan and I love them!!

Q: Is the taupe closer to grey or a light brown?

It is more ashy, not quit grey but not light brown. I wear them with black outfits.

Q: Can someone explain to me why Dansko would mark their own shoe, black size 36 to 1$179 and every other size to $129. Price gouging?

Probably has to do with supply & demand. I only noticed a price difference based on color, not size.
