Awesome
Beautiful book about glazes. I’m a pretty new potter so it was very informative for me. I don’t know enough to know if it would have been as good for an experienced potter. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beautiful book with great infomation for potters.
This book was given as Christmas gift, and received with much appreciation. This releases potters from glazes that happen to be in stock at their local pottery supply store.

Incredible glaze combinations
Such a great companion book to the first one by the author. There are over 200 new glaze / glaze combinations in this book, a dream for every potter who’d like to up their glazing game! I’m excited to try them out!

Great Content, Iffy Quality
Terrific content, with glaze recipes and sample object photos usefully arranged in sections by firing zone range and related techniques. I particularly like that the author included comprehensive photos of glaze double and triple combinations, doubly helpful in this case because of instructional content related to layering and revealing layered glazes.Technical content is broad and appropriately shallow, given that this is primarily a recipes/examples book. Still, I very much like that it DOES include technical content and it's at a level that is perfect, IMO, for the self-educated potter. Useful content, some I haven't seen addressed in the way this book does includes commentary on tools, blending and testing approaches, layering, modifiers, firing protocols (ramps) and more.As good as the content is, the physical quality of the book could be better. It's not cheap quality, though at first glance you might think exactly that, but it's not high-quality, either, quality being compromised first by its low-quality print-laminate covers, but most importantly, by the publisher's choice of paper. The paper is mid-grade and matte, which is *really* unfortunate for a book so dependent on photos. Moreover, the photos themselves aren't at high resolution. Gallery photos (gallery pages are sprinkled throughout the book) suffer the most. The glaze sample photos are at least adequate for their purpose. Signature sections are sewn, which is good to head off spine breakage in a book that will often be used lying flat, and it DOES lay open flat quite nicely. An excellent book and I'd love to see a top-quality edition.

Very cool coffee table book
This book is great for any coffee table. The pictures are vibrant and plentiful. Every morning I have coffee, I mull over a few more pages from this book. If you’re into pottery or just art in general, I really do suggest this book.

Helpful color photos
I liked this book as it is full of clear well-lit color photos which give you the real effect of the glaze. I liked the effect of the double dipping and seeing how the glazes blended or ran. This book has low fire, cone 6 and cone 10. I ordered this to make some plans for my upcoming ceramics class. I have already taken six semesters of ceramics classes at college. This book is inspiring and it is helpful.

Beautiful pieces
I actually got this for some inspiration and I have to say that it was worth it. It showed some absolutely beautiful pieces. I have no regrets.

Good to have on Hand
I got this Book for a close friend who has picked up his pottery hobby again in earnest this time around, and I thought this would be a great reference book for him. It was beautifully illustrated and it had lots of tip and glaze combinations, however it is more geared for somebody who has more experience and not necessarily a beginner. But so far my friend has already picked up some great and new idea and is very pleased with the book overall.

Good information but not for beginners
Some lovely glazes in this book. I’m just a newbie potter and found it a bit too advanced for me. Great use of pictures and once I become more advanced this will be a good purchase. Lovely condition and arrived swiflty

Just a rehash of a previous book.
I you do not have the previous book this would be a good buy, but if you do it is just the same book different format. maybe a couple of new glazes but nothing worth buying it again for,

Glazes you can use easily
Fantastic book. Lots of information, tips and really good glaze recipes. Have not fired the ones I picked, cant wait.It is becoming more common for potters to go down in temperature to midfire,1220, instead of going to stoneware,1280-1300. It is less stress on the kiln and the elements. Takes a little while to change over but is great when you do.
