Sulfur Therapeutic Mask, 4 oz

I've struggled with my acne since middle school and this mask definitely reduced my oil levels when used 2-3 times per week. I've tried every topical cream a dermatologist can prescribe (epiduo, rentinA, differin, etc.) but they never helped very much. So finally during my sophomore year of college, I was fed up with my skin and decided to try accutane. This was hard for me because I'm very picky about what goes into my body (picture organic hippie haha). But as scary as the commercials make it sound, after doing some research, I decided it was the right choice for me. Best decision I've ever made. However, a few months after I was done taking the medication, my acne was cured (no more pimples!) but my oil levels were still slightly above average. This is is when the mask became truly vital. I use it a couple times a week on my T-zone for about a half hour(just a thin layer) and it makes a huge difference. I would even venture to say I now have "good skin"-a claim I thought I would never make. In short, if you've struggled with terrible acne for years, there is no spot treatment or mask that will "fix" your skin. Accutane may be a little spendy and have a bad reputation, but it works. I just wanted to share my skin journey because I want everyone to be as happy with their skin as I am now :)P.S. After a year or so, depending on the humidity of your climate, the mask may dry out a bit. If you add about two tablespoons of water and stir it with your finger(or a spoon) and leave it overnight, it will be back to normal.

I’ve been using this mask for years. Works well for acne, oil prevention and other skin conditions. This particular mask by DDF works better than other sulfur masks with the same percentage of sulfur. Way more effective than Kate Somerville. True staple. For acne, I recommend using a maximum of twice (maybe 3?) a week and not leaving on for longer than 20 minutes because it really does draw the oil, and you don’t want to strip the skin of all oils, even acne-prone skin. You can use more frequently as a spot treatment though as I do overnight for the inflamed cysts or pimples. I’m more liberal with other skin conditions. Holy grail product for me. Amazing for tinea versicolor also, along with a different company’s sulfur soap. It adheres well, provides a barrier, and you can leave it on overnight for it. Works better than prescription medicine for that. This mask is worth the money.

This has a higher sulfur content than the Murad and the smell shows. BUT, it leaves your face feeling even better than the Murad mask. I'm not entirely sure it has been overwhelmingly helpful, as I still get the same amount of gross when I do my Biore peel, but I've had fewer breakouts. I have changed my facial care routine to cleansing with Olay facial wipes daily, olay microdermabrasion on the third day, Biore pore strip facial after the microdermabrasion, then the mask. The instructions say once weekly but it really does leave your face feeling really good. When I did this with the Murad, I still had fewer breakouts but it didn't feel as good as this does.

Wonderful product and great shipping speed. I used both applications once on some acne spots and they were almost completely gone the next morning. Great production I'm sticking with it.

The reason I gave it a 1 star is because I ordered this on June 22nd, it is now July 15th and I was about to open the new box to use the mask and realized the expiration date is 09/2020! Of course it was my fault for not asking before I bought this item what the expiration date was and sadly there is no returning this item. But I never thought it would be expiring less then 3 months after I ordered it. Shame on Amazon for sending this product out knowing there was no way it could be entirely used before the date of expiration. I know it will probably be good past the 09/2020 expiration date but if I had known in advance that this was the case I would have passed on ordering it!

I've suffered with acne for most of my life and have tried every type of product out there.Now as a 40 year old I have a pretty good routine and on meds from the Derm that keeps my skin normally clean, but every once in a blue moon I am hit with cystic acne which leaves me paralyzed. I've called out from work, I've cancelled social plans- it's humiliating and painful to have cystic acne at 40.I've tried it all and nothing has helped until I tried this on someone's recommendation.First two days in a row I use the mask all over my chin area and immediately saw some relief. My skin was far less red and bumpy. For the next few days, I used it as spot treatment only on the areas of concern.Con: dry, flaky skin around the areas where the product is used, however I am able to lessen this somewhat by using a gentle scrub in the morning around the area with flakiness.A week after starting this my chin is mostly cystic acne free, or at least visibly. I can still feel the bumps under my skin, but SO HAPPY the whiteheads and the painful red bumps are gone (for now).

I have been using sulfur masks for over 10 years - this brand is my new favorite. First, I love the jar vs. a tube - the tubes are difficult to squeeze and some mask is always left in the discarded tube. I also like that i can initially open a small hole in the top lining and access the mask with a spreader without exposing the entire jar to air - which causes clay type masks to dry out or cake up. Based on the reviews, it is obvious that this mask is not for everyone - and everyone is not going to achieve the same results. I have very oily skin - with cystic acne - and acne around my T zone. This mask helps the acne form a head - and heal faster. I do not have black heads - I have large pores and have skin plugs periodically. If you have sensitive skin - or minor skin issues - this mask is not for you. I also have to use the mask several times a day on problem areas and cystic acne - this is not a once a week mask. I can spot treat or use on my entire face - I can leave a thin layer of mask on my face overnight - and I can even leave a film of this mask on my face during the day - even under my make up. This is my 2nd purchase of this brand - the first jar lasted nearly a year.

Thus is the best working sulfur mask I've ever used. I wish they didn't discontinue it.
