Ziploc Vacuum Pump Refill Bags, Quart Size, 12 Count

I've never tried any other vacuum bags. Like another reviewer, I bought the pump with a couple of bags and shortly afterwards I could only find the gallon bags. I use quart bags more. Like to chop up onions, pecans, what have you, and keep in the freezer to have on hand for recipes that call for small amounts. I often have a problem getting the pump to start suctioning out the air. Seems like it happens more when I have a small amount in the bag and it's lying pretty flat where the pump is placed. But once it starts suctioning -- and it's very obvious visually -- it's a beauty to behold. I'm puzzled by complaints that the bags don't keep their seal because every bag I've stored in the freezer has come out the way it went in. I know I don't empty them within a month and they are probably in there 3-6 months at times, maybe longer. And because I can't find them on the store shelves, I have reused them as much as possible/practical. If I take out a portion of the contents, I just use the pump again to re-vacuum. I will stock up on these while I can find them because I don't use them enough to justify investing in a pricier system or taking up more space in my very small kitchen.

Apparently Reynolds no longer makes quart sized vacuum bags. These are great replacements for the Reynolds bags and they work just as well with the battery powered pump which comes from Reynolds. The bags are probably more expensive than the bags you would buy for a counter-top vacuum sealing system but there are numerous advantages for me which make these worth the price.1. I need a small footprint. The pumps (from Reynolds or Zip Lock) are small, inexpensive and easy to store.2. I need to run a vacuum bag system in my office and at home. This is a perfect solution if on has to vacuum bag food at multiple locations. I could easily have carried a pump back and forth to work but they are so inexpensive I simply purchased a second one.The Zip Lock bags are reusable. They do an excellent job of preventing freezer burn and reducing food waste. They are best used for foods you know will be in the freezer for two weeks or more. Also, we had a problem in the past with fish smelling up our freezer when stored for a long time. The fish would be wrapped in butcher's freezer paper and put in a regular Zip Lock Freezer bag. The smell still permeated our freezer and refridgerator. The vacuum bags solved this problem. This product is an outstanding spin off of the counter top vacuum sealer systems and well worth the extra cost of the bags.

I had been planning on making a sous vide heater for a long time, and picked up a starter kit at my grocery store (Kroger, Houston) when I first saw them. It seemed like a perfect solution for cooking in a water bath, where a high vacuum doesn't really matter. In Sous vide, you just need to make sure there are no air bubble that would inhibit contact of the food with the water. Anova recently came out with a great and inexpensive heater so no need to make my own,I used the vacuum bags a number of times and they worked great. Today I went to get more, and no one has them locally. I hope Ziplock is not ending the line. Thank goodness I was able to find them on Amazon!! Great product for this purpose. I haven't used them for freezing...

These are fantastic for Sous Vide! Admittedly I paid too much for them online, but I can't find them in the dang store anymore for some reason. They really do have many uses. With the simple hand pump they have been great when camping. If you're packing a cooler with ice and need it to last, you can save space by repackaging your food in these bags. Then when the ice melts, there is far less chance that water will contaminate the food, also as you use products you can reseal and vacuum the bag to preserve it longer. I've kept veggies and meat in a Yeti cooler, fresh and usable for a week with these!

To make a very long story short, I have a system like the Ziploc and was unable to purchase more bags. Then low and behold I found Ziploc and I am as happy as a pig in slop! They work perfectly and I even bought a set for my sister and too loves them. Much easier than a vacuum sealer machine and a lot cheaper. I will be purchasing my bags from Ziploc from now on. Thank-you Ziploc for making my life easier.

The Ziploc Vacuum Pump Refill Bags, found through Amazon, have been a great find for me. I have had a difficult time finding the item in my area, and being able to purchase these through Amazon.com has made it possible for me to continue using the Ziplock hand pump I have used for the past couple of years. Otherwise, I imagine I would need to invest in a more expensive food sealing bag appliance. But these are great; glad to have found them for packaging my frozen food items such as meats, seafood, and fruits/veggies from our backyard garden.

This is an excellent product, keeps food fresher for a lot longer than regular zip bags. Also great for freezing-use the label on bag to put contents and date on. I use them all the time, but lately I've been shopping for refill bags, the quart size is ridiculously expensive and getting hard to find. The gallon size is less expensive but a waste for a small amount of food.

I really wanted the bags made by Reynolds because I have used them before and already have the pump for them but I accidentally ordered the wrong bags so now I need to buy a pump for the Ziplock bags.I am, however, impressed with the speed that I received this order. I fully expected to receive it in 3 to 4 weeks and this was not the case. My order was received in a more than timely manner and was exactly what I had ordered.
