Action-Packed, Atmospheric, Two-Fisted and Finned Adventures Beneath the Surface
If you love the undersea world as much as you relish vintage black and white TV like I do, you are probably gonna need to snap up all seasons of Sea Hunt possible. Some may find them dated, but that's a signature part of their charm for those of us who genuflect at the Lloyd Bridges coral reef altar.Leonard Nimoy seems to show up in at least 2 episodes per season, and though I'm not a Star Trek fan, he does a capable early acting job, usually as a villain bringing a subtle intensity to those episodes. Remember, this show took place at a time when scuba divers were in short supply, and Mike Nelson (as portrayed by Lloyd) has the market cornered because he is the best underwater person you ever did see. Sounds corny, I know, but write your own review if you can say it better, it's free, fun, and I'd enjoy reading anything you write, I really mean that.So get it. I did, and I'm glad of it. Amazon has it and they take care of their customers. Like royalty!

Pristine Sound and Picture
I was a child when Sea Hunt first aired. I didn't understand the dramatc sections, but the underwater scenes had me nailed to the spot. My mother was never a big fan of television, but she always dropped everything to come watch Mike Nelson's undersea adventures.Unlike "Flipper" which is sort of an aquatic version of "Lassie", Sea Hunt is concerned with rescues involving a much wider scope, such as the underwater rescue of two men from a collapsed mine shaft. The stories always have me on the edge of my seat, even though I know Mike Nelson will be back to help someone in need in the very next show. The picture and sound are pristine, and untampered with--as all DVD releases of TV shows and movies should be, but often are not.Fresh, new stories, acted brilliantly and presented in crystal-clear picture and sound--4 fabulous seasons--and worth every penny!

Retro-Fun Under the Sea
This is a great late 50's series starring Lloyd Bridges (yes, for all you under 50, the father of the fabulous Duderuski, Oscar winner Jeff Bridges). Unlike some 50's tv shows Sea Hunt still holds up,plot-wise, script-wise & action-wise. They could absolutely bring this show back to tv & it would be popular with both young & old( they could call it NCI Sea Hunt because I think one more NCI is surely necessary). Each episode revolves around "Mike Nelson's" latest underwater scuba related adventure & his regular guy heroism. The episodes have plenty of action & lively, believable stories-they will not bore you! This DVD has an uncomplicated menu & the picture/sound quality is very good. If you're an old fan or a new fan you can't go wrong with Sea Hunt any season.

We LOVE Sea Hunt
We LOVE Sea Hunt. Some of the stories are not really particularly believable but Lloyd Bridges carries the whole show. It's GREAT viewing. Recommend for any child. My husband & I watch it regularly. It has some interesting details in it & I believe gives people a love of the sea/water. Having the show partially narrated is a great idea & fits very very well with this type of show - (the star mostly under water!)

my 4 year old granddaughter loves this show. 5 stars
AGAIN, another black & white program filled with excitement. BECAUSE it was made under water, YOU can tell your little ones what is happening, and why, just like I did to my granddaughter. let them see a shark, all the fishes, the growth on the bottom of the ocean, the boats down there, the ships. AND how does one breath down there (their tanks of air). this show is clear, no skips, perfect sound. I own the complete series ( 4 years ). YES people get hurt down there, but it is not like today's movies. IF you love B&W PROGRAMS, get this one. you can thank me later.

Quality is excellent.
I bought season one of Sea Hunt for 11.99 and the sound and audio was excellent. I then bought the seasons 2 3, and 4 also for the same price. So for under 50 dollars I got all 156 episodes of good clean and crisp episodes of Sea Hunt. Well worth the price of this excellent 1950's underwater adventure. Highly recommended.

It just keeps getting better.
Sea Hunt:The Second Season, just flows out of season one with a plethora of underwater based stories from around the world. It's amazing what one experienced and master frogman can get himself into, but Mike Nelson(Lloyd Bridges)managed it week in and week out for four long years, and with great aplomb. The great thing about this show is Lloyd himself, who does the voice over/commentary throughout,as the story progresses as well as acting in them of course.Whether he's battling drug smugglers or rescuing a foreign scientist, you can be sure he will set it right in the end. This season, just a few eps in,marks a new ending,as the credits roll. The first season and a bit,had Lloyd's boat sailing toward the left of the screen towards a cove and disappearing behind a rock formation. Now the ending has LLoyd(or his stand in)on the back of a different boat. This one is more open and wider.Lloyd(or double)stands in the middle as the boat pulls away from the same area as before, but this time sailing out to the right along the California coast. This season also finds some soon to be more well known faces on TV joining LLoyd in his journeys.Folks like Leonard Nimoy,Robert Conrad and Ross Martin(both of The Wild,Wild West show),Jack Hogan who would go on to play Kirby in Combat and Herbert Anderson who was Dennis the Menace's father, and others.Again,if you have never seen the show, each one starts out with about a minute, give or take,of opening prologue to set the scene. Then comes the two part main story and finally to the closing monologue where Lloyd speaks directly into the camera. This was this shows biggest selling point;the main star himself.Lloyd looked into that camera and you felt he was speaking directly to you and no one else.He was someone you felt comfortable watching, like a good friend. And as I said in my review of Season One,no one man or show, did more for the sport of skin diving than Bridges and/or Sea Hunt.Because of this show I,after all these years even, have always had this itching just to try to see what it is like.I had a brief foray in a Caribbean pool and I really enjoyed myself.I always remember the things Lloyd would do underwater;never swim alone, how to clear your mask, how to breathe, etc. And there is another aspect of this show so often overlooked.Lloyd's character just was just some inexperienced go getter. His character was an ex Navy diver and he always stressed the safety aspect of the sport, without preaching once to the audience. The transfers themselves are spectacular and look like they were photographed just yesterday. There's no better testament to this show than pristine prints to show it off in all its glory.TGG Direct and MGM are to be applauded for their diligence in this regard. As with all the seasons, there are two volumes included in what I call,a box card box.It opens like a box of cards to reveal the two keep cases inside. The first volume has three discs pancaked one on top of the other, while the other set has two disks in separate holders.I was worried about possible scratching with the pancaked trio, but they seem fine. All in all a highly recommended show for the entire family.Where can you hear THAT now a days,I ask you?It is great to see Lloyd's Bridges back with us again after his long absence.

A FINE SHOW FROM THE EARLY 60s - RECOMMENDED
Lloyd Bridges is outstanding in his role as MIke Nelson, and the stories (sometimes a little repetitive) are quite good. The film and sound is very good, and the music memorable -- but watching one episode after another, I found the music began to bother me. still recommended.
