I have fine hair and wanted these to work
I have fine hair and wanted these to work!!!They are large and heavy and don't stay in my hair long enough to let my hair air dry. I'm back to using my fingers to do the same thing and blowing dry with a hairdryer. Even if I wanted to use these with the hairdryer, the weight smashes the very roots that I'm trying to lift.

Great when used with second clip
I use a regular hair clip to pull up the sides and hold it in place where it doesn't flop around while I either sleep or go about my day. When I take it out, it is lifted and I get lots of compliments when I'm actually super lazy with it LOL( the high lift is only on the crown but I like to pull up the sides to prevent sleep bump and to prevent the hi clip from flopping or sliding.

A fabulous hair clip idea -- but it didn't work for me
These root-lifting clips are such a fabulous idea. I couldn't wait to try them out when I saw them on Amazon. The whole concept of these clips seemed ideal -- an easy-to-slide-in clip that holds your hair up at the roots so that you're left with great lift rather than hair flat against your scalp as your hair dries. With my shoulder-length curly/wavy hair, I either have to stick 8-10 Devacurl pins to lift my hair along the root if I'm letting it dry naturally, or I have to hang my head upside down and blow-dry with a difuser to get the root lift at the crown. These two big HIclips seemed like a perfect, quick option to achieve the same results.Aarrgh. But they don't work (or at least for me they don't).I've tried them with my hair still damp from the shower with DevaCurl styling products in my hair. I tried them while blowdrying and also tried them with just allowing my hair to air dry naturally with the clips in place. The first problem I encountered was that when I used the two clips side-by-side on either side of my part on the top of my head (as indicated on product page pic), the weight of them made them gradually slip and slide down to the side of my head which would have only further flattened my hair to my scalp. They only stayed in my wet hair if I used them balanced on the very top of my head and running end-to-end along the middle of my part. But the biggest problem I have with them is that when I open the clip and slide it in, while it DOES lift my hair at the roots, it grabs too wide of a swath of hair which means that some of that hair is pulled sideways into the clip and, yes, flattened against my scalp. So it only really lifts little sections here and there rather than the total lift that it would appear to do. The lifting height of the clip is great, but maybe if they weren't quite as big/wide? I'd rather have to use twice as many clips to get lift rather than have sections of my hair flattened by being pulled sideways as these clips seem to do.I had *slightly* better luck using it on dry hair that I just wanted to give some lift to the following morning. I spritzed some root boost hairspray in and left the clips in while I got ready in the morning. Still not ideal, but better than the effect I got with wet hair.I still think the HIclips are a great idea and I'm hoping that down the road they make some adjustments or variations in them that'll work better for me.

What amount of heat is OK for these clips?
Can you use these under hair dryer in your hair?

Nope
I have tgick, long gair so I ordered the size large. When I first put them in, they seem like they will work but within a minute they have slid down & just pull the hair (that I am trying to lift) down. Nice concept, but product design is not good.

A waste of my $$$$
These are supposed to help lift hair in your hair at the root. You really can't get enough hair in the clip to make it work.
