I like it, but could still be a little better
I like this concept. It seems like this will be a good way to keep the delicate microHDMI port less likely to get damaged from a cable being pulled sideways while in the camera. I wish the cable was either a little more flexible or slightly longer. The only mounting position option is right next to the port since the cable is too short to allow this to mount to the top of the cage. Would have maybe been nice to also have to other mounting holes so that you could orient this 90 degrees in the opposite direction to change the direction of the input. But since this is the only product that I have seen like this, it will stay a 5 start item. It could be improved though.

Does the job but feels cheap
TL;DR: I bought both the D-to-A and A-to-A versions of this SMALLRIG adapter, basically to reduce wear on fragile camera HDMI ports. In terms of functionally, they work exactly as intended. My Sony ZV-E10 outputs a stable 4K signal through an Elgato Cam Link 4K with no issues at all. The downside is that the cable and connectors feel pretty cheap for the price, and the whole thing feels less durable than one generally expects from SMALLRIG. PROS: ๐ฅณ Works reliably for 4K video output with no signal issues ๐ฅณ Helps protect fragile micro HDMI ports from repeated plugging and unplugging ๐ฅณ Locking screws help keep the adapter securely mounted ๐ฅณ Compact and lightweight design CONS: ๐ฉ Cable feels thin and flimsy ๐ฉ Entire adapter is plastic and doesn't feel premium ๐ฉ Micro HDMI connector feels somewhat low-end DETAILED REVIEW: BUILD QUALITY: This adapter is designed to reduce stress on camera HDMI ports, especially micro HDMI ports, which are notoriously fragile. That alone makes it useful for cameras like my Sony ZV-E10 where repeated plugging and unplugging can quickly damage the port. That said, the build quality feels pretty average. The entire adapter is plastic, and it definitely feels like plastic in the hand. The cable itself is very thin and flimsy-looking. Since HDMI either works or it doesn't, there isn't really much to say about "signal quality," but durability is another story. My biggest concern is that the cable will probably fail before anything else does. The one genuinely solid design feature is the pair of mounting screws that let you secure the adapter in place. That helps reduce strain on the camera port and makes the setup more stable. PERFORMANCE: Functionally, both adapters worked perfectly. The D-to-A version works flawlessly with my Elgato Cam Link 4K setup and maintains a stable 4K signal from my camera without any issues. I've had no dropouts, no signal problems, and no compatibility issues so far. In that sense, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. LONG-TERM DURABILITY: This is the biggest unknown for me right now. Neither adapter has failed yet, but neither has seen especially heavy use either. The A-to-A version barely got used, and the D-to-A adapter still hasn't gone through long-term daily wear. Because the cable and connectors feel somewhat cheap, especially the micro HDMI end, I'm not fully confident about long-term durability. If one part eventually fails, I suspect it'll be the cable first. VALUE: At around $10, this is easier to accept as a simple utility accessory. Still, it feels overpriced for what it physically is, especially considering the materials and cable quality. Unfortunately, international shipping made this much worse for me. I paid about $15 shipping on top of the adapter itself... ๐ฌ FINAL THOUGHTS: This adapter does its job well and can help protect delicate HDMI ports on cameras like the Sony ZV-E10. If you need a compact HDMI strain-relief solution for a camera rig or capture setup, it works fine. Just don't expect premium materials or confidence-inspiring durability. For light to moderate use, it's probably fine. For heavy daily plugging and unplugging, I'd be curious how well the cable holds up over time. Shipping to Peru was expensive compared to the product itself, but the adapter arrived working properly and in good condition.

Love it!
Love it. Takes the stress off my micro-usb port and I don't have to worry about messing up a cable, or worse, the port itself. I also like how the two mounting points extend just far enough in case I wanted to mount it on the underside of this plate. Fantastic investment!

Works but fragile
Mini-HDMI ports are known to be fragile. The design of this item is a good idea: in conjunction with a mini-HDMI clamp, it provides a locked-down separation of the mini-HDMI cord, to eliminate any pulling on the port should the primary HDMI be tugged. The issue is that its cable is actually quite fragile, and for me it protrudes a bit from the camera. So you need to be careful to avoid touching it much, both to not pull on the port, but also to not damage the cable itself. This is even more of an issue if you shoot in portrait and like to hold the camera with the cable-side down. This is my second unit, as my first began to fail intermittently after a few months of ownership and actually not too much usage. I will be much more careful with this copy, and hopefully it lasts longer. Regardless, I think it's better insurance to have, than to not have; and even with replacement, cheaper than sending the camera in for a port repair. It sounds like for some people with large rigs the cable is too short, but in my case it's a bit overlong. They should probably release more lengths, and perhaps with angled connectors.

Handy Little Item
This one is a no brainer. If you're camera has a micro hdmi, you're using a cage, and you use an external monitor, you should already have this. It screws right onto your cage to give you a full sized hdmi connection. Not only can you use a full sized hdmi cable, you'll never have to worry about damaging your camera. If a cable gets tugged accidentally, all the strain goes into this inexpensive part instead of into your expensive camera. If for nothing other than 'peace of mind' it's well worth the expense. I shoot some 'how to' videos so I'm constantly moving my camera around. This gadget just makes my work flow so much easier.

Well built, fit great. I like a HDMI out instead of USB video out for AV work and streaming. Better bandwidth on a Sony ZVE10

Does what it says on the box!
Bought this to alleviate the risks of bending/damaging the microHDMI port on my Sony ZV-1 if I want to plug it to an external monitor or a USB capture card. Basically screws the adapter you'd be carrying anyway and you screw it on your cage. Make sure to check your cage and where you intend to screw it (there's pretty much only one location on mine) as the cable is very short. You don't want to force it in the ZV1 either (kinda defeats the purpose). Recommended!
