This grate tripled the cooking surface I was using to cook eggplant over an open fire. What a luxury upgrade and a time saver.

PROS☆ It's collapsible! So it makes it very easy to transport & store☆ It detaches! Very handy since the campsites we frequent usually has split level firepits.☆ Heavy Duty!☆ Comes with a lift-tool!CONS☆ Needs to be seasoned over high heat fire and thoroughly scrubbed to scrape off the shiny/paint finish. You certainly don't want to be ingesting that stuff with your yummy food so bring tools & pit gloves and get ready to put in some elbow grease for about 30min.☆ Very heavy☆ After a few hours over the fire pit, we noticed the grate started to have a little dip. We initially thought it was the weight of one of our kettles but realized as heavy duty as the grate is, it does experience a little bending on its own when kept over the fire for quite some time. The good thing is it does flatten on its own once it cools.The neat thing about this grate is you technically have 4 cooking sides. As soon as you flip the grate it's already gone through a high-heat clean and just needs a light scrub and ready for your grub. Overall, i love this grate but it did lose a star because of the bending but definitely no regrets on this purchase. Can't wait to use her again next summer!

This is the real thing. The metal is thick and although you may get some deforming with any metal under high heat, this holds up to a big fire and works great. If there’s any deformation of this product it is absolutely nominal. Unlike the other cheap barbecue grates with wire mesh that are a joke (I tried them). This product is made by the company that makes many of the out door barbecues you see in public parks. The slats are approx 1/2 wide as are the gaps making a reasonable spark arrestor.

This is a fantastic cooking grate. Made out of quality steel and we have made several great meals on an open fire. Very easy to clean when you heat up the grate above nice hot embers. My fire pit is 30 inches in size and this grate size is perfect. Being able to lift half of the grate up allows me to adjust the embers and create heat zones in the fire pit. My grate is about a foot above the hot embers and when you use hard wood from fruit trees, you get a very nice smoke flavor on your grilled food. We also prepared a clam bake and the grate is strong enough to hold several pots and pans.

I put this over my fire ring at my camping club. You can put a ton of food on here. Friend all asked me where I bought it. Nice and heavy, durable. Burn food it off after you are done, remove from heat (I use my fire poker ) and apply a thin coat of oil after it cools to prevent rust between uses.It is a little challenging lining up all 3 pins at the same time for the hinges, but I only use 1/2 of it when I am not cooking for a group. I would buy this product again

This grate fits a 32 inch fire pit. However the middle part warps. I don't think it would do this on a smaller interior opening.

This is an amazing grill. Fits perfectly over my fire pit and cooks evenly. I've told all my neighbors about it and would definitely buy it again.
