Review: Works well! - Installation is a bit fiddly. I have a bike with round forks at least half way down. The rubber bracket looked like it wanted to be installed on the flattened part of the fork, but then was too far away from the unit to pick up. I called Cat Eye, and a nice support guy told me I could just squish the rubber down on the round part. He also mentioned that the bracket allowed the sensor to lean in to make it close enough to get a signal from the wheel magnet. Just what I needed to know. It all works now, in spite of the computer being installed an inch up on the bracket for my removable basket, rather than my handle bars. Loved knowing my average speed, current speed, time, elapsed time, distance, and calories. Computer stops when you stop the bike, so it's keeping track of just riding time. Auto start. Very happy with the features and readability. Easy to set up the computer. My last Planet Bike unit was almost impossible to set. This is straight forward. Good price point. Would buy again.
Review: Good value bike computer - I'm a low tech guy and I really like this computer. Simple set up, installation and use. Despite others' negative comments on the sleep mode, I really like this feature because it conserves the battery. Similarly with negative comments about no back lit screen- this only matters if you ride in the dark (which I don't). As far as not being a rechargeable battery, I don't want to have to pull off the sensor to recharge it. That would be impractical. This is a solid computer, so if you are like me, you will like it. I will report back later as I learn more about it's durability and reliability.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I mount this on the stem of a road bike?**
A: if your stem is round, sure. The mounting plate has cutouts running vertically and horizontally, fit well on my wife's threadless stem. My road bike stem is an old aero-style Deda Murex which has a pointy cross section, so the cycle computer went on the handlebar.

**Q: Does it have to be handlebar mounted horizontal to the road? Or, can it be "tilted" at a 45 degree angle?**
A: It doesn’t matter where or the angle tilt of your computer. I once mounted mines on the stem and once on the top tube. It will still work.

**Q: Is this a GPS unit?**
A: No, this is as basic a wireless unit you can find these days.

**Q: I have polarized sunglasses. I have had problems with reading bicycle computers in the past. Will I have issues with seeing the screen?**
A: I have polarized sunglasses as well and don't have a problem viewing the screen. One thing to note, not all polarized sunglasses are the same. That's why I bought the computer at this price point, if I had trouble reading it I wasn't out much.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value bike computer

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for bikes without dynamo hubs
*by N***Y on April 16, 2023*

The good ------------ -Easy to setup -Don't have to deal with wire management -Straight forward to program, just a matter of familiarizing and getting used to setting up the device with the front and rear buttons, accompanied with the instruction manual/map. -Nice clear display of statistics and how fast you're going -Battery seems to last for ages, being a CR2032 battery The bad ----------- -No back lighting, so can't really see what's going on if it's dark outside. -Wireless transmitter suffers from EM interference, as I found out when mounting it on my bicycle that has a front wheel dynamo hub. It would register going 65mph even though I'm just spinning the front wheel to test if it works, with 700c selected during the setup process. Tried mounting the transmitter on the rear forks to eliminate possible interference, but the computer no longer would receive any signal unless the magnet is about 1/16" away from contacting the unit, probably received a lemon? Not so much a big deal as it happens from time to time every now and then. Neutral/Unrelated ---------------------- Just a basic computer, basically comparing apples to oranges when it comes to more advanced units by Garmin or Wahoo Usually would prefer to stick to the wired Cateye Velo for a sturdier more reliable transmission between magnetic sensor and computer
