Heavy Duty MOVIE Full Tang Machete K1030-1 - Machetes

MEASUREMENTS: a) Blade thickness: slightly over 1/8 of an inch. b) Blade length: 15-1/2 inches.c) Handle length: 5-7/16 inches. d) Overall length: 20-15/16 inches. e) Type: Full length tang.I took this blade on a one week camping trip into the desert this winter with about twenty friends. I used the subject mashete as I would a hand-axe chopping up a whole lot of desert firewood, which is extremely hard stuff; and also as a knife to cut thick meat to cook on the grill. It did the meat cutting equally as satisfactory. Great all around camp knife for heavy-duty or most any use.After I returned from the trip I checked out the blade for the remaining sharpness. I was much surprised. The cutting edge hardly showed that it was used. Excellent edge holding quality. The subject machete is quite heavy on its business end so its use as a heavy machete, and heavy hatchet, or hand-axe, is excellent. The fit of the handle and the workmanship is as you see it in the pictures, nothing on mine was not as shown and with excellent assembly of the handle and blade. It is every bit as beautiful as shown.The only downside is the sheath, as it is as you usually run into with lower cost knives. But, the blade is such that is only used when I have a particular job to do, so the sheath is no problem for me as it only exists to keep you from cutting yourself between jobs. If you wanted to carry it slung over your shoulder you might want to have a custom sheath made for it. It is worth the extra expense.I could hardly be happier.

lot of blade for the money, but comes dull! lot of tlc to bring a nice edge on this.

First I would like to say that I received exactly what I was expecting. My expectations were a Heavy Duty Wood Handle Machete. I also did not expect a really sharp edge, or a fantastic sheath, all of which were not advertised by the seller. The machete seems to be very sturdy. I just got it 4 days ago and have not had time to use it, and that is a good thing as I got it more for defensive purposes than forest slashing.It did not come with a super sharp edge but not to dull either. The edge seemed to be what I would expect from a machete, anything more sharper an you might want to call it a sword. I read a ton of reviews on amazon as I was looking for the perfect machete to fit my needs, and I settled on this one. The reviews for the most part were spot on. Most said it was not to sharp, and the sheath was pretty cheap. All of which are fixable on my part. Weight feels good, and angle of blade feels good also. The wood handle is nice and I may need to put some sort of rough grip on it, but for now it will do.If I use it whether it be self-defense or in the woods I will update my review. As for now I am giving it a 5 out of 5.

This machete is well built and was delivered to my house in just a few days. it is solid and the handles will last a life time...the case is a nice add on, but lite weight. The price is fabulous for a machete of this caliber. I was very happy with this purchase.

this machete is really nice.. the handle was a little loose when i took it out of the package but i just wrapped it in hockey grip tape... really good weight to it.. cant wait to take it backpacking.the sheath is now being cut by the tip of the blade... annoyingtook the machete out back packing and worked extremley well..
