This is a review of the Teswell 104-Key Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (USB)This will be entered by my summary followed by pros and cons I considered.Summary – I am using this now instead of one of the imitation mechanical keyboards I got for a much lower price. This one is by far much higher quality. You certainly get what you pay for with this keyboard. It is very snappy, has the true mechanical keyboard feel-noise and since I am love lights, the built in led light features made me very happy. The design is well laid out, the rest is well positioned and the fact it does not take batteries is another bonus. If you a gamer - like backlit keyboards and like the mechanical feel-click noise, you are going to love this one.ProsThis has an excellent led light feature. You can select from 9 different effects (6 colors) by just pressing the FN key and the INS key at the same time. You can have all the keys remain backlit in a solid fashion, none, gaming mode where the gaming keys are backlit, a chase feature, a flashing feature, a mode where each key you type stays lit and then fades, etc. My favorites are flash, chase or solid. You can also select brightness. Is water resistant so if you spill, it does not mean your keyboard is automatically fried like many others.Keys come off easy in the event you need or want to clean it. No special tools needed for this and as a bonus, they give you a key puller which works very well.It does not require any software and did not require me to load drivers. There is no detectable lag when I type at all and it is very responsive. It is a nice solid construction and has no issues with sticking buttons.Has several built in key short cuts for common tasks using a FN key.Is compatible on Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP and Mac OS X.Is powered using your USB port and does not need batteries or a separate power cord.Is a full size keyboard with number pad built in.Have adjustable feet and bottom has non slip features so the keyboard will not slide when used.Price is on par for led back lit keyboards.Components are solid, well-built and even the usb ending is gold plated for maximum transfer and response.ConsThis has a built in arm rest which is made of plastic. While this is smooth and comfortable, I like to use a gel wrist pad. This keyboard will not give you the option of removing the built in arm-wrist rest. So if you like to you use your own certain type of wrist rest, you are up the creek. Feel this should have been designed to allow this to attach and detach in the event you want to use a different type.I don’t know about you, but I depend very heavily on reviews that are posted on Amazon. I also read what reviewers on Amazon have to say. I want to help others by providing my reviews that detail the product as well as the experience I have with the products that I get on Amazon. Please note I have no relationship with this seller. Has that mechanical click and feedback that I love in a keyboard and a handy backlight for typing at night
I love mechanical keyboards. I still use an IBM M101 I use everyday. The cord is kind of comical. A ps2 connecter, plugged in to a mini ps2 adapter, plugged into an ps2 mini -> usb adapter. And I have 4 spares I've found at different swap meets and pc shows over the years. After using it for 25 years (when I got it, it was 5 years old) it still works perfectly. This keyboard gives me almost the same tactile feedback as my original. A little lighter, but very good. Like my old one, the caps are removable. I like to throw them in a little bag and throw them in the washer when they get dirty. (take a picture first, so you know where they all go when reinstalling them) I bought this keyboard because I needed a keyboard with back-lit keys, so I didn't have to turn on a bunch of lights to use the computer in the middle of the night. And it works well for that. The different light options are kind of gimmicky, and I don't see myself using any but always on, but they are fun to use to show off to others. It would have been nice if they were RGB, and you could change the colors of the rows, but that probably would have added a lot to production cost. The plastic wrist rest is not very comfortable, I prefer cushioned / removable wrist rests. That's were they lost the star. But I'm using this keyboard to write this review, and I expect to keep using it on this computer. It will be interesting to see if I can get 25 years out of this on too.I purchased this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review
