I have not found a formula for liquid soap that is to my liking. I have a front loading machine, so I just throw 1/8 to 1/4 cup in with the clothes and do not use the soap dispenser built into my washer.If you use softener or bleach, they can go into the dispenser as usual. I have a well with very hard water but the clothes still come out looking and smelling great and probably will last longer too. **Q: Can this be used on silk?** A: I would not advise it. Silk is a natural fiber that will tend to dry out and turn stiff - like your natural hair would - because, with a pH of 9-14, this soap is too alkaline.
