## Description

The Jabra Evolve 40 Professional Headset is built for greater productivity and amazing sound quality for calls and music. To block out distraction, this telework headset contains passive noise cancellation and has a special busylight that automatically turns red when you pick up a call to let others know to not disturb you. It can also be manually turned on so you can stay focused and undisturbed when needed. The on-the-ear work headset design along with the leather-feel cushions provide all-day comfort so you can find inspiration between calls and enjoy your music without worry. If you’re heading out of the office, easily transfer your Skype for business and Lync PC calls to your smartphone and continue using the microphone headset while on the go. Plus, the 3.5mm jack lets you easily connect to personal devices, so you can work or listen to music wherever you are.

Review: Reliable Workhorse for Clear Communication - The Jabra Evolve 40 has become my go-to corded headset for daily work, and for good reason. It strikes a great balance between functionality, comfort, and price, making it a solid choice for anyone who spends a significant amount of time on calls. Crystal-Clear Communication: The primary function of a work headset is clear audio, and the Evolve 40 delivers. The wideband audio ensures that voices on the other end come through distinctly, and I've experienced no issues with understanding colleagues. More importantly, the noise-canceling microphone is a standout feature. It effectively filters out the background chatter in my home office, ensuring that my voice is clear and professional on every call. I no longer have to worry about distracting sounds creeping into my conversations. Comfort for Long Workdays: Comfort is paramount when you wear a headset for hours on end, and the Evolve 40 doesn't disappoint. The plush leatherette ear cushions sit comfortably on my ears without causing excessive pressure. The adjustable headband allows for a personalized fit, and I've been able to wear it for extended periods without discomfort. Whether you opt for the mono or stereo version, the design prioritizes usability throughout the day. Practical and User-Friendly Features: Jabra has included thoughtful features that enhance the user experience. The integrated busy light is incredibly useful for signaling to family members when I'm on a call, minimizing interruptions. The in-line call control unit is intuitive and allows for easy management of calls, volume adjustments, and muting. The flexibility of both USB and 3.5mm connectivity is also a major plus, allowing me to seamlessly switch between my laptop and phone. Solid Build and Value: While it might not have the premium feel of some higher-end wireless options, the Evolve 40 feels well-built and durable for its price point. It's a reliable workhorse that gets the job done effectively without breaking the bank. The magnetic boom arm that neatly integrates into the headband when not in use is a nice touch, keeping things tidy. Minor Considerations: Being a corded headset, it naturally lacks the freedom of movement that wireless options provide. However, the cord length is generally sufficient for most desk setups. Also, while the noise cancellation is good, it might not completely eliminate very loud or persistent background noise. Overall: The Jabra Evolve 40 is an excellent corded headset for professionals. It excels in providing clear audio for both listening and speaking, offers comfortable wear for long durations, and includes practical features like the busy light and in-line controls. If you prioritize reliable performance and value in a wired headset, the Jabra Evolve 40 is a strong contender and earns a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's a dependable tool that has significantly improved my daily communication at work.
Review: Crisp, Comfortable, and Work-Ready Headset - Crisp, Comfortable, and Work-Ready Headset The Jabra Evolve 40 is a wired headset that gets just about everything right if you’re spending hours on calls or listening to music while working. The sound quality is crisp and balanced—voices come through clear, and there’s enough depth in the audio to make music enjoyable without sounding flat. I also like the passive noise cancelation from the ear cups, which makes it easier to focus without needing active noise canceling. Comfort is another strong point. The padding on both the ear cushions and the headband makes it easy to wear for long stretches without feeling heavy or tight. The boom mic rotates into position smoothly, and call clarity on the receiving end has been excellent in my experience. I also appreciate that it connects via both USB and 3.5mm jack, which gives me flexibility between my laptop and phone without fumbling for adapters. If there’s anything to keep in mind, it’s that being wired means you’re tethered to your desk—it’s not as freeing as a wireless headset. The cord is sturdy but can feel a little long at times, especially if you’re trying to keep your workspace uncluttered. Bottom line: A comfortable, professional headset with clear sound and a reliable wired connection. A great pick if you want dependable call quality and don’t mind giving up wireless freedom.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The boom mic helps reduce room noise, and it's comfortable. Some annoying design features.
*by C***R on January 31, 2021*

I've used this headset for about a month during the pandemic to help reduce room sounds (such as dog barking, and others speaking) from impinging on my frequent Zoom meetings. The boom mic is helpful, as I expected it to be given its classification as a "call center" headset. It requires no batteries and can be directly connected to the headphone jack of a laptop (I have a MacBook Air), or via a supplied adaptor to a USB port (which in my case requires another adaptor). The sound quality is very good both ways. I only hear breathing if I put the mic more or less in my mouth, which is a silly thing to do and easily avoided. It is also light and relatively comfortable - relative that is to in-ear and over-ear headphones (Sony) that I also use. I frequently find myself forgetting to remove it after a call and wearing it for hours. It's lightness gives it a cheap feel, but the benefit is, well, lightness - it doesn't feel fragile, and it looks well on camera, so this really isn't a concern to me. What is a concern is the mechanism that positions the boom mic, which has a single axis that enables the boom to swing from below one's chin to about nose height. The height affects how well the mic picks up speech, so this matters. I find it easy to adjust and like not having to worry about a second "in/out" axis - BUT IT SLIPS on its axis, and I find myself frequently having to raise it up from chin height. It cannot be tightened. This is a relatively serious shortcoming. Less serious, but real, is the cord - it gets in the way of taking notes, sometimes end up tangled around my arm, and creates the risk of standing up without remembering to first disconnect...potential catastrophe lurks at the end of every call. In sum, I use it but do not love it. I would consider the wireless versions of the same product.
