The reeds are tuned beautifully, the action of the keyboard is excellent, and the size of the keys are just right for my hands. Because it is a woodwind instrument, I can get emotion into the sound with vibrato, dynamics, tonguing, etc. Because it is a reed instrument worked with a keyboard, intonation is excellent. I spent all day playing accordion tunes, concertina tunes, harmonica tunes, and just plain songs that I like. And here's a bonus that I hadn't anticipated: I can play songs and keep the tone going EVEN WHEN I'm choked up or crying tears. Songs I would not be able to sing, because they are too emotional, sound wonderful on this instrument. Maybe it is a "toy" but boy, am I having fun playing with it.

It came today. First impressions: it's HEAVIER than I thought...very well designed and engineered. I then threw on the standard mouthpiece (NOT the trumpet-like mouthpiece, but the other one) and played it. GORGEOUS! Very smooth, keys feel great, tone is excellent. Seems plenty loud! Hooked up the plastic hose and its mouthpiece is really cool because you can hold it between front teeth. CANNOT WAIT TO RECORD WITH THIS THING! What inspired all of this was the album: "El Embalao Vol. 2" by Adrian Schinoff. This dude SLAYS on the melodica. He makes it sound so good that I figured I would upgrade from the off-brand to a legitimate brand like Suzuki. I am EXTREMELY pleased with this purchase. Comes in a nice sturdy case.

**Q: I own a hohner alto melodica. how does the note range for this one compare to an alto?**
A: Range is F below middle C (F3) to F three octaves above middle C (F6) for a range of three octaves.

**Q: What is the length of the plastic tube that comes with it? I notice that folks frequently buy a 20.9 inch tube from the Pianica to go with this.**
A: 20 inches. I measured from the tip of the mouthpiece to the end of the connector. The end pieces are black, the tube is white. The 20.9 inch Pianica tube doesn't seem like much difference.

**Q: Has anyone checked the tuning with a tuner? Mine is mostly 5-15 points sharp and I'm considering returning and trying again. Multiple responses please**
A: I realized that mine was way sharp when I was playing along with recordings and my cello student.  The entire reason I bought this was so that I could play with other musicians and also bring it to the jazz jam.  Wish I would have known…..

A: Sorry but it is not an electronic equiment, so it czn not be connected to a computer.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great keywork and plenty of sound.

I've had a Hohner 32 key for about 35 years that I used on occasion as a portable keyboard to scratch out some music or as a sub for an accordion sound when it was needed in some shows I did. A recent gig I did had me wanting an upgrade and this one is great. The width of the keys is the same but the white keys are longer than the Hohner which works well with my long fingers. It also projects much better and I could easily get away without using a mic in smaller settings. It is way more robust in terms of build quality than my Hohner and I look forward to the next opportunity to use it performing. Great case that came with it too.
