Nice matte finish that will not be too bright or glossy on your old dog of a 98k! Mine went on a rough, been there/done that dou45 Vietnam bring back with jungle patina and it blends well enough though I'll eventually scuff the hood up with light sandpaper and maybe a quick wipe down with some muratic to give it some plum color. Again, looks and feels like milsurp! ***THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PIECE AND A TRUE BARGAIN!***

I don't know if these are surplus or repros, but neither will anyone else. Whacked onto my Yugo that was missing it. Good tight fit as expected.

Struggled with installing it for a few minutes because it was super tight and no amount of heaving on it with plyers would work. Ended up just heating the top of the sight hood with a blowtorch until I could bend it just enough to get it on. Super solid now and improves sight picture.
