The cards are somewhat slick and a little bit hard to shuffle.

A Vision of Tarot in pictures
I aquired this deck, The Vision Tarot, secondhand from someone who absolutely hated it, they said, it's horrible, they said, why would you want it, they asked me......but I knew from my limited knowledge of seeing it online that I would probably like it. My instincts were correct in this case. It's a gentle, non-threatening tarot deck, yeah okay it has black borders, but tons of other decks do too. The black borders accentuate the medieval style photographs that are the deck's images. This is a Marseilles style deck, Not a Rider-Waite style, and if you are looking for fully illustrated minor arcana you won't find them here, these are numbered pip cards with the suit signs instead. All the cards in this deck are posed photographs that have some degree of digital alteration to make them look medieval, and they have a slightly shadowy, softer look, they aren't psychedelic or brightly illuminated, and they don't shout at you. I get a good feeling from this deck already and can tell that I'm going to enjoy using it for meditation as well as readings. The booklet that comes with it seems to be very descriptive, although I haven't read it yet I will soon. This deck was printed by Carta Mundi in Belgium on nice quality glossy cardstock and is very smooth to the touch. The back design is black with four white sword/star shapes, one to each corner, and reversible. The deck has smooth rounded corners and feels sturdy for handling. The box is cardboard with a tuck flap closure. Altogether a very pleasing deck that anyone can enjoy if they are more into the subtle styles of tarot decks, not over-the-top or garishly designed.

Attractive and intriguing
I don't generally like decks which use photographic imagery, but this one is quite beautiful. Only the 22 Major Arcana are illustrated as such, which is my only complaint, but they are all beautifully done and relate well to traditional Tarot symbolism. While this deck may not be ideal for beginners,it is certainly a must have for collectors.

Starts out great but quickly goes down hill.
This deck starts out with a novel idea, to present the Rider Waite deck with more inspiring photographic images. It starts out fairly true to this goal with the major arcanum. By the time they reached the suit cards though they were totally exhausted obviously. The remaining cards do not follow the traditional symbolism at all. For instance the corresponding number of cups are just shown on the ground with no other significance keys at all. Toward this end, you would be much better to go with the Healing Tarot deck.

Great for Beginners
I've had this deck for exactly one week, and already it's told me lots of information. Maybe it's because my best friend picked it out, who believes that tarot decks won't work properly if you don't receive it as a gift. But, THIS IS A GREAT DECK! The pictures are wonderful and look almost real, yet they're CGI-ed.Yeah, it's all a matter of preference, but if this deck screams at you, then don't listen to the critics... listen to yourself.

Beautiful Photography
I really wanted to get this deck, the Photography is lovely, and does seem to make the cards stand out. Reading however is harder with this deck. The black border cuts off much of the picture, and the wood framing in some make it a darker deck. The minor arcana is simply done with each suit's number. So there are no pictures , simply 2, 3 or 4 cups etc.... while i do like reading without pictures on the minor arcana, i think it would have been much more helpful, if at least the 5 of cups had two overturned, and perhaps a dark sky. In this deck all cups are upright, filled, and the sky is blue, giving a beginner reader absolutely no clue to the meaning. Its a nice deck, but not one ill reach for alot during readings. Karen

Vision Tarot
Bellissimo mazzo di tarocchi in "grafica avanzata" molto decorato e in stile medievale,in particolar modo trovo notevolmente belli gli arcani maggiori e le carte di corte.
