Holds without fault
The treads are secured very tightly to the stairs and do not slide at all. The backing is flat, smooth, white in color, with a plastic consistency.It comes with a thin plastic sheet covering the backing that must be removed before placing it on the step. It is not sticky to the touch but secures very well to the step. The black and gold coloring is very nice but I was surprised that there is a glitter/sheen to most of the gold sections. Note: I would recommend that you do not secure these to newly polyurethaned steps as is will lift the ploy if it has not had a sufficient amount to time to cure. I have attached some photographs of the tread in sunlight, resting on my black stained step, and the backing with the clear plastic cover sheet that contains the instructions. I wish they had landing sizes as well as I am finding that it is near next to impossible to find one that will match this unique coloring and I need two 3' x 3' landing sections.

Works well.
These are very good stair treads. I ordered this particular set simply because it was the prettiest one I could get a small quantity of with prime shipping, but I'm very pleased with the quality. I don't know how they stick, because the backing is not super sticky to the touch, but they have held up to heavy use by both people and kittens without any slippage. I would definitely buy this brand again.

Love the design
Love the design! Before purchasing, I read previous unfavorable reviews about the gold color and thought that since I like "gold" it should be fine. But this gold is "cheesy" gold sparkly. If you like "sparkly" gold, then this is the product for you. I returned this product as it is not the standard of our decor.

Not good quality carpet at all
Had to return the item. The pattern is in metallic GOLD. Not good quality carpet at all, in my opinion.Looked awful on stairs. Binding was too wide and made it look even worse.

Nicer in real life.
They have a backing that won't harm wood stairs. Plus the gold is metallic, a lot nicer than the picture.

Don't buy it.
Very poor quality. Looks like a table mat with metallic print and is slippery. Nothing like the picture. Back is also not good at all. Will not recommend anyone to buy it.
