Excellent compared to Version 3.0
Bear in mind I am only comparing version 3.0 to this one. Yes, verrion 3.0 and not 3.5. To start, it is a huge step in the right direction. Works perfectly in Windows 7. Writing songs is a breeze. Updating backgrounds is fantastic. You can change it on the snap by dragging the image or videoclip to the main cue and it applies it to all on the set. You can also do that to individual stanzas or blocks of text. Internet integration is easy also. We run Youtube videos once in a while and making them into cues is much easier than switching programs. The most noticeable improvement is editing margins. Version 3.0 had margin values. You had to increase or decrease the number to change the margin. Version 4 uses a drag and strech process that is much better. It just runs better, faster, and more efficient. I like it and so does everyone that has used it at church.

MediaShout crashes, customer service is bad and many other problems occur
We were a MediaShout customer for many years but finally have given up on this software. We tried many times to resolve issues and were patient with the support team but could not continue to deal with the problems and difficulties this program caused our church. MediaShout stops working and crashes multiple times during editing of the slides. Customer service was not good, never answered the phone even during the customer service hours and took a long time to call back. The tutorial videos were not helpful at all. The software does not have a user-friendly interface in general but is especially unusable to people who have no experience with the program.MediaShout updates were sent out and caused the software to completely crash. We had to call customer service and were told we would have to completely reinstall the system with a new access code. The technician had to be involved to make sure we did not use up an extra licensing code when reinstalling. Each time the software crashed the MediaShout support team gave a different reason for the cause of it crashing. We were told the program was cloud-based, but it was so complicated and confusing to set up the cloud-based system we gave up and were not able to utilize that feature. Steep learning curve transitioning from MediaShout 5 to MediaShout 6. Opening the MediaShout program each day took a long time to load. MediaShout crashes when we try to add certain types of media into the presentation such as PowerPoint or images. Overall, the program was extremely difficult to use, customer service was not helpful at all and the program caused many difficulties for our church to run smoothly. We later switched to one of MediaShout's competitors.

Complicated for a Small Church
I am the Pastor and Worship leader in a small church. I have to plan, prepare and implement our worship that is entirely on screen. I have been using MediaShout since version 4. Version 4 was simple and straightforward to use. Now, with Version 6 there are many complications. It is, unfortunately, difficult to use in comparison. I feel like I need to be an IT guy to pull together a script. In addition, now I find out that with MediaShout 6 I need to be sure it connects with their server every 6 months. The computer is in our sanctuary. We do not have, nor do we want, internet service there. So, that means I have to disconnect the computer, lug it to the office in a different building, reconnect it to a monitor, check-in with the server, then disconnect it, lug it back to the sanctuary, reconnect it. I found the issue right before worship was to begin and we could not get it up and running. Needless to say the congregation struggled through that service.Unless you are a medium size congregation with internet service in your sanctuary, I STRONGLY recommend you do not purchase this software.I wish I could go back to MediaShout 4. But alas, it is not to be.

Great potential - still lacks many features
First of all this program has great potential. That said the key word it potential because in my opinion they released it before it was ready. What works, works well but there is a lot missing. I have not had the problems with crashing that some have reported and have been able to use the program but am often frustrated by some of the lack of functionality. If you are using version 6 I would not update until it is more functional. I saw where someone said you could play audio files and I would like to know how because the mediashout website clearly says that is a feature that is not available yet. If you are thinking about buying this software I would advise you to look at the user forum to see all the complaints users are posting to see if you really want to do it. Why did they release this before it was ready? My guess is that the sales of version 6 had fallen off and they needed to generate some income - no way to know but that seems the only reasonable answer.

MediaShout 5 Worship and Ministry Presentation Software
We are enjoying Media Shout 5 Worship and Ministry Presentation Software which we purchased from Amazon.com. This has resolved a lot of conflict with Windows Vista Business we have on the computer we use the presentation software on. Thanks

Frustrating experience with MS7
We have used Media Shout since the 3.0 versions and had always had success with it until 7.0.In an attempt to make it more "robust" it is now clunky and not nearly as efficient. Video backgrounds do not run smoothly and transitions are not seamless (Forget crossfading.) We have just stopped using video backgrounds for worship songs, because they kept locking up. We upgraded our computer graphic card and RAM to see if it would help - it did not. Media Shout has been good at responding to our issues, but as of yet the software has not performed to our satisfaction. COnsidering just biting the bullet and moving on to Pro Presenter.
