Unfortunately, it quickly lost its appeal, and the only reason I kept reading was because I kept hoping there would be more. I need more in a book. More story. More plot. More character depth. 90% of this book was mostly bedroom activities. Don't get me wrong, I read a lot of romance. I like steam in books. But like I said, I need more to a story than just that, and there were only maybe half a dozen chapters in the whole book dedicated to the actual plot.As for the streamy stuff, I was kind of put off by this one. The female lead quite literally puts up no fight. She hardly defends herself. When the male lead takes her and pretty much tells her she will live with him from now on, she basically just accepts it. And he quite literally spanks the crap out of her over and over again, to the point of harm, for the tiniest of infractions. He wasn't about anything but hurting her and she just takes it. And at one point, the male lead flat out tells her that she is not allowed to say no to him or she gets punished. That's basically non-consent in a nutshell. When she does finally find out why he took her (i.e. what happened to her real family), the story basically just glosses over it in one paragraph. Most lead females would be upset at that knowledge, and she's basically just like oh, no big deal. I find that odd.I don't much care for lead females who let men walk all over them the way she does in this book, especially being told they aren't allowed to say no. I like dominant alpha males who know how and when to be in charge and take care of a woman. I don't like lead males who don't give a woman a choice, especially in the bedroom.

This is a mafia story, a love story in a twisted way, it is dark and it is BDSM themed. I liked Chloe she is tough and a little sassy. Silas was very protective of Chloe and people do want her dead. There is more to this book than the BDSM aspect but that just makes it more enjoyable. This book hooked me and did not let up for me. It was a good mix of danger, BDSM, and yes love. Great characters and a great story. I loved it.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow what an opening act for this book! Chloe has no sense of self-preservation whatsoever and she led the charge into this book with fireworks and steam that drew me in from the beginning. Silas is one of those true alpha males, the need to dominate is there, but so is the desire to care for and protect. Together this couple is one that I just fell in love with. The author didn’t just throw together a bunch of steamy scenes and hope for the best though, she added a storyline and danger that just captured my attention and wouldn’t let me leave until the very last page. This book was a fantastic read and I am looking forward to more by this author.

This was a solid romance for me.The story is exactly what you get in synopsis. A man meets woman who he immediately becomes obsessed with and decides to "tame". It turns out he knew her (birth)mother and she needs protection, blah,blah,blah. It is implied that there is a significant age gap between the hero and heroine but the book never mentions his age. I guessed he was in his mid to late forties and she is twenty two. Also, there is a mafia element in this book but the hero himself is not in the mafia. Good book, would definitely read more by this author.

I enjoyed the well written erotic portions. As usual with this genre the plot had deficits. The idea that leadership of a Mafia family is inherited by blood was nonsense.

Silas is a man who always gets what he wants. The minute he sees Chole perform he wants her. He also notices a birth mark on her neck she is being sought after by all the families. She doesn’t know who she really is. Good story as well as hit bdsm

I loved this I loved that silaS didn't take from close but gave her the strength she needed to be her best and jam so happy that this was not an overt long story.

Chloe wants to be a singer. She lands gig but nothing turned out the way it was supposed to. Silas likes what he sees in Chloe, he always gets what he wants. Chloe has no idea what she is to find out. Secrets! Chloe's life is in danger. Can Silas protect her? Great read

Don't bother i thought it be good as i seen the reviews but it boring as hell i skipped the ending i just couldn't carry on reading it was that bad

Absolutely fabulous read from beginning to end Sara fields does it again her books are amazing and Pet is another masterpiece so get reading

Not a can't put it down book. But a good read. Well written.Wi have a look at other books by same author.

Great twist and turns, with a beautiful end. A must read for the crime lovers as well as erotica lovers
